  • Nice hiker. Good stability and fit.
Size: 12 Wide Color: Taupe-suede
I am very pleased with my purchase of these hikers. I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis and have problems with my feet, (i.e. - plantar fasciitis, swollen tarsus, hammer toe, etc.). Finding a comfortable pair of shoes is hard to do given my current condition's with my feet. It seems like most shoes these days "at the store's" are too narrow. Even the ones marked as Wide width still tend to be too tight. I came across these shoes while doing a search for extra wide width hikers. I haven't had much luck ordering shoes online, but I was desperate for a new pair of shoes. These were an online special being sold for a good price. They seemed like a good pair of shoes and had good reviews, so I thought I'd take a chance and order a pair. I was glad I did because these were comfortable on my feet right out of the box. The width of the shoes was perfect, and I was happy that I finally found a pair of hikers that weren't too tight in the toe and Tarsus region's of my feet. Even with a little thicker pair of socks they still fit well. The insoles are pretty comfortable also which was another Plus. I usually have to buy extra cushioned insoles for shoes, but I don't think I will have to with these for a while. I am limited on the amount of time I spend on my feet due to arthritic pain, but these shoes were comfortable for me even after a few hours of wearing them. I have never tried this brand of hiker before, but I am very pleased with the construction and the way they fit and feel. Buying clothing and shoes online is something I usually don't do, but I think I finally got lucky with this purchase. I will definitely buy the Nortiv 8 brand again if they continue to make their shoes in the extra wide, I believe 4E?, width. I might even order another pair NOW for the future. If you are looking for a good pair of hikers in an extra wide width, I can honestly say give these a try. I don't think you will be disappointed. Happy Trails! P.S. - They even came with an extra pair of laces. ... show more

  • Great boots
Size: 10.5 Color: Black/Dark/Grey
I love these boots and have adapted them as my everyday wear shoes. I previously bought them for a cosplay/airsoft loadout, but have found myself using them as my everyday wear shoe. They are my work shoes, my hobby shoes, my going out shoes, they have such a nice design and overall comfort that i went from wearing $100 shoes like jordans and nikes to just this pair. The material is not breathable but its not suffocating to the foot. the material is 100% percent water proof unless you somehow manage to get water thru the tongue, and waterproof as water glides off not you can stick your foot in a pond and come out unscathed. They dont take long to break in and become very comfortable to wear after. Ive order another pair cuz they unfortunately ripped form the heel but that is because i order a wide size and a size bigger by mistake. Overall they are a great pair a boots, for outdoor traveling and sports, or if they are to your taste of fashion too. ... show more

  • Nice boots so far for the price
Size: 12 Wide Color: Olive-suede
I've only worn them a few times, but I can say they are comfortable even before proper break-in and appear to be well made. The shank is not so stiff that they're uncomfortable during day-to-day wear, but you can definitely feel the support. If you plan on wearing these with thicker socks do yourself a favor and buy at least a half size up - I normally wear 12w so that's what I initially ordered but had to send the first pair back as they were tight even with normal socks. I'm rocking a 13w now (no 12.5 available), feels great with wool socks and a little loose with normal thickness cotton. With some nice insole inserts they'd be perfect. Haven't tested their water resistance yet, but dry feet trampling around in wet grass for two hours the other night gives me some confidence. If these hold up well after a few months I'll happily buy another pair in black. ... show more

  • What a value!!
Size: 10 Wide Color: All Black-suede
I rarely write reviews. But when I feel that you really get your money's worth for something, I feel obligated to. I run a sawmill operation, and I am in the woods logging often. I would consider it extreme abuse. Sometimes it's wet, muddy, and always rough terrain. I have been wearing these for several months now, and I am beyond impressed. I feel like these should be 150-200.00 class boots. They are super comfortable, waterproof, and durable. If you are looking for a great hiking/work boot, you won't be sorry buying these! ... show more

  • These boots were good for several months, but now, no
Size: 13 Color: Army/Green/Black/Orange
I bought these boots in July 2023. Hiked with them last winter. Pretty good in packed-snow and icy trails with microspikes. However, now, In June 2024, while they do not LOOK worn out at all, they are beating up my feet terribly. They don't prevent toes mashing against the front of the boot, so after a year winning the battle against a bad big toenail, I just lost that toenail again to both bleeding and a bad toe fungus infection despite lots of spray and daily use of a nail fungus applicator. Smaller toes are all thickening again because they all mash against the front of the boot and catch fungus. The boots have become much too flexible and the soles too soft. Rocks hurt through the soles. It feels like I'm hiking on basketball sneakers. Also, their grip on dusty downhills is terrible. Hiking down a ski run yesterday, I had to stay off the dirt roadway and hike on the weeds to keep from a slip-slide fall. My toes, soles, and heels all hurt like hell starting three miles into a mere 4-mile mountain hike. Again, they were good for nearly a year but now, despite not looking worn, they are ready to be turned into bird nests (I saw a post about doing that with old boots; cool idea). ... show more

  • Good bang for the buck.
Size: 13 Wide Color: Army/Green/Black/Orange
This is not my first pair of these. I've seen the improvement in some little changes. Beefier toe and lace hooks improved. I have only gone for a couple walks so far. They are performing as expected. Swapping the laces out with lace locks. The tread on the bottom of the shoe seems a slightly more aggressive than the last nordov 8 I had making me wonder if they will wear out a little faster on rocks and cement. I didn't have a problem with grip with the last pairs. ... show more
