  • Nomatic Travel Pack 14L
Color: Black Size: 14L
***Updated 08/13/2025*** I was able to get in touch with Nomatic customer service and I wanted to update my review to reflect my experience. Their customer service team responded quickly (thank you, Blake!) and worked with me to resolve the broken bag issue. Other reviews here made me concerned that the company would not respond or help with malfunctioning products, but in my experience, Nomatic did indeed honor their warranty and they sent me a replacement bag after I submitted a warranty claim and sent back the broken bag. The replacement bag arrived today. The zipper movement is much smoother and the construction quality is great. It seems like Nomatic has updated the design, with consideration for flaws in the previous version. It's great to see a company learning and improving their product based on customer feedback. I'm glad things worked out here as I really appreciate the level of organization and storage versatility this bag provides. The separate, well-padded laptop compartment at the back is a nice addition as well. Hoping this one will last me a long time! :) ***Previous review: July 2025*** I purchased this bag almost exactly one year ago to the day. When I received it, I was impressed by the seemingly sturdy design and appreciated having different pockets, pouches, etc to store things in an organized fashion. However, when opening and closing the bag, I noticed that the zippers seemed to routinely encounter resistance and require some delicate finessing to pass over sharply curved zipper seams at the upper edges. Today the zipper got stuck there. When I carefully reversed it to try to correct this, the zipper easily detached from one of the tracks, revealing that the zipper track had detached from the seams, and the zipper had detached from the track. I had purchased a $40 “premium protection plan” through Amazon when I bought the bag, because it was a very expensive purchase for me. Asurion immediately denied my claim and did not provide email follow up as they claimed they did. They instructed me to reach out to Nomatic. I did, but then I checked the 1 star reviews here, and I see that MANY purchasers have encountered the same exact zipper malfunction, in the same place. with the same result. Considering this, I would venture that this is a design flaw, and thus, the manufacturer should address this in their production of future bags, and they should also replace or refund bags which have suffered damage due to the same design flaw. I did not manhandle this bag, I have been very kind to it. I hope to reach a solution with Nomatic customer support. However, based on the reviews here, it seems that Nomatic has a a history of leading customers on or denying their own warranty. I hope this is not true, as I will be out of a backpack for school/work/travel and without any option to purchase a replacement for some time… I am a broke graduate student! I bought this bag for grad school, and to replace another that had lasted me almost 10 years (and was less than half the price). I will happily update this review if Nomatic can address these concerns and actually provide some customer service. If not, I will never purchase from them again, and I will advise the same to others. ... show more

  • Seriously well thought out bag.
Color: Black Size: 14L
Nomantic Backpack 14L (not the travel backpack) Arrived on time, well packaged. I am in love with this backpack. It is the perfect size for everday. At 5'6", the 20L was just too big on my frame. I opted for the regular backpack over their incredible travel one as I intended this for my daily carry bag and wanted the extra organizers in the main compartment. It is well made. No loose threads, no zipper issues other than the normal one from going around a corner, material does repel water, straps are comfortable, and the organization options are out of this world. I use it in it's compressed state, but have expanded it and fit a sml/med sized packing cube. Like others I found the key fob placement a bit hard to reach when slinging the pack around, but as it clips onto a strap inside that pocket, it was easy to remove and place where I wanted it. I actually have 4 pockets with nothing to put in them yet. It is that well organized. So would I change anything? Yeah, little nit picky stuff. 1. The sunglass box seems very large in this smaller pack. I removed it & use my regular case. I like the 'idea' of it, just takes up more space when I don't need one that large. 2. Really wish they'd kept the 4 zipper opening from version one. It would make it easier to set 2 zippers for top opening and 2 for side opening without having to keep moving them around. 3. RFID pocket. Maybe in a future version they will consider making it a 3 side unzip with the 2 pulls. Would make it so much easier to get into when slinging it around one shouldered. Yes I know, it's a backpack, but who hasn't carried a backpack one shouldered, or needed to grab their wallet out at the store without having to take the whole thing off. Again, these are not deal breakers for me, just 'how could it be better' stuff. I agonized for weeks over this purchase. It IS expensive. But when I think what I've spent in 2yrs trying to find the 'perfect' backpack vs. How many boxes this pack checks off, I pulled the trigger & don’t regret it. ... show more

  • I’m very impressed after a week of use... loving it!
Color: Black Size: 20L
I’ve had this backpack for a week now, and I’m very impressed so far. I was apprehensive, first for the price and second for the reviews I read/saw. Some of the things that had me worried prior to purchase were: (1) Ability of the bag to remain upright when placed on the floor. Many reviews stated that this was a flaw and that it was front heavy and always tipped to the front. This must have been fixed, because mine remains upright all the time, even when it doesn’t have the computer in the back. (2) There were some reports that the bag was not truly water repellent. So I spilled water over it to test, and all the water was repelled in droplets. This bag is water repellent. There is space for everything, and then more. A couple of things I’m loving so far: (1) The magnetic side pockets are awesome. And when you have a a water bottle or an umbrella on them, the softer expandable fabric is protected. My previous bag was an eBag and the softer material was not protected and every time I put it on the floor I could hear the water bottle hitting the floor. To the point that it broke the softer fabric. This will not happen with the Nomatic. (2) The 4 zippers in the main compartment gives you a lot of practical flexibility. I didn’t think I would be using this as much as I’m. You can open any part of the bag with convenience. (3) Being able to open the flap at top of the bag and have access to your computer. (4) The comfort, is just amazing. You feel snugged with this bag. (5) The looks. It has a cool bag effect. It also looks very professional. Overall, and so far, the Nomatic backpack is very impressive. I’ve used and tried several backpacks in the past 3 years (Swiss Gear, OGIO, Ghostek, eBags) and I have to say that this is the best one... by several orders of magnitude. ... show more

  • Absolutely the best tech bag I’ve ever owned.
Color: Black Size: 20L
The absolute BEST tech bag I’ve ever owned. I’ve used it for 3 months and have traveled to several states. It will be the last tech bag I buy. The bag is a mobile office. It fits everything I need to setup my mobile office on the go. It’s built very well. The zippers appear to be made to last a lifetime. The design is flawless. The bag stands up on its own without falling over giving you access to either the small or full compartment as shown in the pictures. If you’re like me and you carry many cords, dongles and battery banks for every possible situation, you will have many easily accessible pouches to choose from. The bag fully loaded with all my gear is heavy but once strapped to my back is extremely comfortable. There are too many good things to say. I literally could write 3 pages or more of nothing but good. I looked at many reviews before I bought the bag, any my experience has far exceeded all of the reviews I’ve looked at. I recently purchased the nomatic collapsable backpack to take with me to have an around town bag and that bag is fantastic as well. The best part, it fit perfectly in my bag. If you frequently fly, you will be happy the the bag slides under the front seat with no issues. If you are like me, and you like to have your portable screen, laptop, mouse, keyboard, and various cords and adapters to make your work-life easy, then this is the bag for you. The functionality fare exceeds the cost of the bag - hands down. ... show more

  • Love everything but the zippers
Color: Black Size: 20L
UPDATE 2023-08 I'm just shy of two years since having bought this. I've used it as my carry on for at least 32 international flights and used it as my daily commute bag between home/hotel and office. Other reviewers have complained about it scratching/scuffing easily, but I haven't found that to be true. If I wipe it with a damp rag, it looks almost new. I was worried about the zippers, but they've held up. They loosen up a bit after some use, though they still are not very smooth zipping around the corners. But I've made my peace with the zippers. My only remaining complaint is the flaps for tucking away the straps. I basically ignore them. I was hoping to use them to tuck away the straps when putting through metal detectors at the airport and before storing in the overhead bin or under the seat in the airplane, but I rarely bother because they just are not very convenient to use. This is still the best travel and work-commute bag I've owned. I have various Tumi laptop bags gathering dust because they just don't compare to the convenience and comfort of this bag. But this is by no means a rugged or even practical bag for heavy tourist or backpacking travel. It is best for work travel for those who have to travel with multiple devices and peripherals. I basically use it to carry my work and personal laptops, a Kindle, my medicine, headset, and various cords, charging blocks, batteries, etc. I'm not packing clothes or documents in it. PRIOR REVIEW I've found my perfect laptop for my current work. I work mostly overseas, returning home every 4-6 weeks. I also work in a part of the world where I have to go through at least 5-6 security checks every trip. I travel with a larger and fairly heavy 15.2" screen, Lenovo p52 laptop, a new Macbook Pro, my Kindle Oasis, and various cords, adapters, travel battery chargers, and external hard drives. This bag, amazingly, holds it all and very compactly. Even with two laptops' related gear, the bag will fit under the seat in front of me in an airplane if overhead space isn't available. My favorite feature is that the top of the main compartment can be partly opened to get ready access to the laptops to pull out for security. This has been a lifesaver given the amount of security I have to deal with. And back at my accommodations or in an airport terminal, you can open the main or secondary areas and the fold down revealing everything neatly stored in the various pockets. NOMATIC really put a lot of thought into the organization. It was like they read my mind on how to design a bag for IT or business travelers with lots of digital devices. There is a place for everything an most of it is readily accessible. The more I use this bag, the more things I keep learning to like about it. There are some areas for improvement though. First, the zippers. They are fine, but I worry that they are not sturdy and will not hold out. I'm guessing that the design was to help keep the bag water resistant. But the material that covers them has waxy feeling that creates resistance when opening and closing the bag. They've loosened a bit with time. But they also don't seem very durable. I'm used to ultra-tough bags like those from Red Ox, which have incredible zippers. If the NOMATIC zippers last a year or so, I'll be happy. We'll see. [See Update - zippers have held out just fine for almost two years' heavy use]. Next, overall durability. It feels durable enough, other than the zippers, but this is no tough backpack for extreme conditions. Should be okay for your daily commute and for air travel. Still, I don't expect that this bag will hold out much past a year with my fairly heavy use. But I love the organization and functionality of the bag so much, I could see buying it again every couple years, unless I find something with the same great organizational design features but more durable. [Update: still going strong after almost two years' heavy use]. The strap-hideaway flaps. These are great to tuck away the backpack arm straps so you can just carry the bag by the top or side handle. I like to do this just before a board the plane, as it makes it easier to neatly store the bag under the seat in front of you or the overhead. But I find it can be inconvenient to get the snaps to engage and more often than not I don't bother it unless I have a couple minutes to fuss with it. I've not found it convenient enough to quickly tuck away the straps while in the boarding line. [Update: have come to really dislike dealing with the strap-hideaway flaps, I rarely bother using them as I find them inconvenient to use.] Lastly the reading glass compartment. It is a nice idea and I used it at first, but I found the square plastic top to be inconvenient to remove and replace. Also it would be easy to misplace or drop the container lid. Also, the container is quite bulky and when the bag is full, it can be difficult to access the pocket below it. I ended up removing it and just use that pocket to store my case that came with my reading glasses. Overall, this is the best travel bag I've found for hauling two laptops and associated gear through security and compact enough to fit under the seat in front of you if there is no overhead space or if you want ready access to your bag. ... show more

  • Don't buy this!
Color: Black Size: 20L
This thing is great to pack and unload. Especially when the zippers completely fail and you have to hug this thing so your expensive electronics don't fall out. This was ridiculously overpriced and I regret this purchase. Would never recommend this to anyone even at half the price.

  • Best work and travel pack I've had
Color: Black Size: 14L
So far this thing has been a beast of burden for me. It's very well put together, though maybe some of the pockets could be different..which one could probably pick any pack apart based on personal preferences. I used it almost daily as a work pack for my laptop and tablet and I've used it as a 3-4 day work trip travel pack and it has done both jobs exceedingly well. So far the outer material is holding up fine, though it will show rubs/abrasions as shiny spots in the finish. The stitching has been solid as have been the zipper. It's a bit harder, a bit, to zip around the corners as they are stiffer than usual but that's part of the design. A big reason I bought this pack is that it stands on its own and I love that it does. No floppy pack to try to fill, this thing has solid structure. The expanding compartment is easy to use and the bag isn't bulky when you do use it. No regrets on the money spent, this bag is going to last me for a very long time. I'm quite happy with it. ... show more
