The NM-i17xx-MP83 is a SecuFirm2 mounting upgrade kit that allows Noctua CPU coolers with 83mm mounting pitch (see detailed compatibility information) to be upgraded to Intel’s latest LGA1851 platform, as well as the previous LGA1700 socket. True to the SecuFirm2 tradition, it combines outstanding reliability, optimal contact pressure and easy, straightforward installation in order to enable Noctua users to continue using their heatsinks on Intel Core and Core Ultra series processors. The NM-i17xx-MP83 kit is compatible with a wide range of Noctua CPU coolers that use 83mm mounting pitch, whereas heatsinks with 78mm mounting pitch must use the MP78 version. Please refer to our detailed compatibility information to check which kit is right for your cooler. SecuFirm2 mounting systems use high-grade coil springs to achieve perfect contact pressure. No guesswork regarding how far to tighten the mounting screws, no risk of damaging the socket with excessive pressure! Installing a cooler turned by 90° can be desirable for airflow or compatibility reasons. Thanks to the square layout of the hole pattern on the LGA1851 and LGA1700 platforms, this is easily possible with the NM-i17xx kits if space and other components permit. I used my old noctua cooler on a new build with this cheap purchase. Great value to reuse old parts! Gotta love support for older products for new sockets. It had been a while so the included nice simple instructions is very appreciated. I’ve seen a few reviews and a note saying this is a frequently returned item so just gotta say: find out the exact model of your cooler and make sure this one is the right one! Asked Gemini if this what the one I needed. It was right.
The fact this mount exists was such a relief. Had an old PC and the original hardware that came extra with CPU cooler. Tried both and realized neither fit my new motherboard. Found this and was just as easy to install. Hang on to your Noctua stuff, components aren't getting any cheeper.

Fits perfectly
I needed this mounting kit to fit my older fan to my new Intel motherboard. The kit contained everything I needed, and had excellent instructions. Very easy to install, and fit perfectly.

Works as intended
I upgraded from LGA 12000 to LGA 1700 for my NH-D15, so I required the updated mounting kit. Assembly took about 5 minutes. I believe all that was changed was the mounting height- looks identical. I am using a 12600k with a B-series motherboard so it's not overclocked. I have tried every Benchmark/Torture Test I could find and could not get the max temp in the hottest core to break 60C. I think in the future I may not go back to overclocking as there is little performance to be gained at this point in time. NOTE: Noctua will supposedly upgrade the mounting kit for you for FREE. I just didn't want to wait, nor did I know how long it would take, so I elected to pay the $8 for the kit. ... show more

Had to replace a part I lost
Bought this for an i9 13900KF and an iCUE AIO. I had to RMA the chip/motherboard and when I got the replacement I realized I left the AIO backing on the board. It was great for mounting my i7 12700kf. It came inside a little box. Also, as a brief review I must say is that, before you buy, see if it is intended for what you need, I mean there is a Noctua NM-i17xx-MP78 and the Noctua NM-i17xx-MP83. They both are for very different models of Noctuas, so before you buy, research a bit if the model of noctua you have is compatible with this product you are about to purchase. ... show more
