  • Awesome product as expected from Noctua
I built a new computer a while back ryzen 9 5950x with a 3090 ti. I had to small of a case and heating problems. I bought a cheaper cpu liquid cooler and a big atx full tower case. I used the noctua fans instead of the fans that came with the liquid cooler. Worked great! Highly recommend this product and company for all your pc cooling needs! ... show more

... show more

  • Great fans but I have issues with the company’s products
I've ordered 4 different Noctua products and this is the best of the 4 I've bought. I bought 2 different 140 mm fans (4 Noctua fans), 2 of these 120 mm fans, and a Noctua CPU cooler. I now have 6 Noctua fans in my case and like everything else in my PC build, it's overkill and that was the intention. I've overclocked my CPU, GPU, and RAM so I wanted adequate cooling for all that overclocking. So why is this such a good fan? It's in Chromax Black and 2000 RPM is a cut above in power and speed amongst most other 120 mm fans. It's surprisingly hard to find a 120 mm fan that goes faster than 1500 RPM: and it's also a Noctua fan. What I don't like. Noctua is a little bizarre because they come off as a company that makes good fans and throws every other consideration out the window. Their leadership must be color blind because finding Noctua products in Chromax black or white was a point of stress in my PC build I didn’t expect. Color-matching isn’t the most important thing in a PC build but when 90% of your build looks good but something is off because of a Noctua fan or vibration pads…yeah, no thanks. I eventually got the color scheme I wanted, after spending over $60 and 3-weeks shopping for black and white compatible vibration pads, extra fans, and fan splitters. Secondly, I honestly don’t know what’s Noctua’s latest and greatest nor what colors those come in. I feel like most consumers have the mentality of, “It’s a Noctua fan, that’s all I need to know” but Noctua releases new products with better airflow, different designs, speeds, and *shocker* in actual different colors. I think some of these models are almost 10 years old and sure, they’re great but shouldn’t they be phased out or replaced at this point? Lastly, even though Noctua packages their products well, they also include a bunch of useless stuff I don’t use. There was a “quiet operation” fan plug that came with my Noctua CPU cooler I could care less for and an overload of yellow, blue, and green vibration pads that basically don’t go with most PC color schemes…like all those original Noctua fans. These fans are good, I’m not doubting that but Noctua needs to clearly communicate when they come out with new PC case fans and CPU coolers and what colors those come in and (in cases where a fan splitter is obviously needed like my CPU cooler) include more useful items in their packaging instead of 40 extra vibration pads I’m not going to use, in colors only a circus clown would agree with. I’m not exaggerating, a had a whole Noctua’s box worth of extra vibration pads I threw in the garbage when my PC’s fan setup was complete. Also, Noctua clearly doesn’t care for RGB lighting which might be a deal-breaker for some, it’s no big deal for me. ... show more

  • Works well and is quiet
I don't have empirical data handy but adding it onto the back of my Fractal Design Torrent lowered CPU temps a little bit and its quiet. I appreciate that these don't include a lot of the extra fiddly bits that I don't need (rubber mounting stuff, cables with inline resistors, etc.). Just a fan in a box pretty much. ... show more

  • Very quiet
During max RPM, it genuinely sounded like one of those annoying distant sports cars revving up on the freeway at 3am because they don't give a rat's ass about everyone else trying to sleep. That's not to say that the fan is loud lol. I just thought it was something else and that it was totally silent. The rubberized corners eliminate any vibration from loosened screws, to a point, of course. If you hear it, the screw is about to fall off. ... show more

  • Solid European engineering
I recommend these fans for any build. Had to order two more to replace the fans the case came with because I wanted quality parts for the gaming machine.
