Conceived for industrial heavy duty applications that require enhanced cooling performance and advanced ingress protection, the NF-A14 industrialPPC (Protected Performance Cooling) is a ruggedised high-speed version of the award-winning retail model. Thanks to the outstanding aerodynamic efficiency of the NF-A14 design and the use of a novel three-phase motor, the industrialPPC version provides superior airflow and pressure capacity while keeping noise levels and power consumption moderate as against comparable high-speed fans. While its fibre-glass reinforced polyamide construction and certified water and dust protection make the NF-A14 industrialPPC suitable for operation in challenging environments, the renowned SSO2 bearing technology guarantees an MTBF of over 150.000hrs. Topped off with Noctua’s trusted reliability and 6 years manufacturer’s warranty, the NF-A14 industrialPPC is an ideal choice for highly demanding applications that require superior flow rates and ultimate dependability.

  • Useful for filtered positive pressure PC cooling system, gets loud toward top speed
I don't like having to clean dust and crud out of my PC very often, so I did a lot of research and put a lot of work into setting up a case where the cool air intakes are all filtered and the hot air output is passive. So, not only do the fans have to work against the positive pressure in the case (the pressure inside the case is higher than the room pressure), they have to maintain that pressure pulling the air through filters while keeping up airflow. I have three of these fans (and a similar model 120mm fan) feeding filtered air into the case itself (the power converter has its own dedicated filter and fan in addition, but that is a separate airflow path). Under light loads, they are reasonably quiet (definitely not silent, though). Under heavier loads, they do get louder. The airflow per noise level seems pretty good most of the way, but maybe the last 20% of the way to maximum speed does not seem to gain as much in airflow as it gains in noise. For my system, which involves two SSDs, six hard discs, an nVidia 980TI video card, 64GiB DRAM, an i7 5930k CPU, and a few other minor bits, I rarely need to run them flat out. I anticipate they will need to run full speed sometimes once I add a second video card for SLI, but I expect them to be able to keep up even then. I had expected them to be quieter at max speed, otherwise I would have said five stars. ... show more

  • Depends What You Want, They are Loud at Max RPM
Didn't cost much more than a normal NF-A14 and I don't need all the accessories so I figured why not? I actually like Noctua's colors so I don't feel as though the change to black is a huge change or anything but it still looks good. First of all this fan is loud at higher RPMs, I knew that would be the case which is why I got a fan controller so I could run it at lower RPMs. And man can these things move air. Temperatures have dropped a little, not a big change but my temperatures were pretty good in the first place. I am only using these are case fans with dust filters and not for heatsinks/radiators. 1 of the 5 fans I ordered had a problem. At any audible speeds these fans only make the whooshing sound of air, but a couple of hours after installation I could hear a low humming coming from my computer. Kind of like a "Whrrm.. whrrm.. whrrm... whrrm whrrm" After about 10 minutes of putting my ear against everything I found one fan (The motor in the center) making that noise. After disconnecting it I can no longer hear it so I know it was indeed that fan. I have since sent that one back and ordered another. If you are looking for a quiet fan you can run at 100% these are not what you're looking for. I can't tell what RPM I'm running these at since I have an NZXT Sentry Mix 2 that only has sliders, but I estimate somewhere around the max RPM of a normal NF-A14 (1200-1400 RPM). If you hate Noctua's normal colors, have a good way to regulate RPM (Or are ok with the volume), and don't need all the extra accessories you should get an industrial. ... show more

  • Great fan, but get the 3000rpm if you have PWM headers
If you got this then you are using PWM headers. Get the 3000rpm version, even if you don't need it to run that high. The PWM control is excellent and fairly linear until the top 10%, so you can always run the 3000rpm version at the speeds you would run the 2000rpm version, but with more flexibility. Also, I believe the minimum rpm of the 2000rpm and 3000rpm versions end up being quite similar, so basically the 3000rpm version is a straight upgrade. Overall great fan both for 140mm sized rads, and for case airflow. Can customize colors with chromax and aren't poo brown. What's not to love. One note: I have 3 of these and one burned out after a month of moderate use, but I'm getting replaced by Noctua. They have been fairly quick to respond and these things happen. ... show more

  • Good to cool your surround sound receiver
Great for cooling my home theater receiver. The fan has a high static pressure , that is what you need to blow thru the Heatsink fins on your receiver. Run the fan at 8 volts and its quiet too. I highly recommend this professional fan.
