The wheel feels much more substantial than the inexpensive plastic wheels that just hold a Joy-Con. The controls are responsive, comfortable to hold, and make racing games a lot more fun. Setup was simple, and it worked exactly as expected right out of the box. The larger wheel size gives it a more realistic feel without being overcomplicated, and it's comfortable enough for longer gaming sessions.

I'm really happy I purchased this Nintendo Switch Mario Kart Racing wheel for my 5 year old at the time. I've had this wheel almost 18 months at the time of this writing and this thing works and appears brand new. It looks great and definitely has that Mario imprint! I nice big M where the horn should be! I do wish the horn as actually a button! The size seems just right! Its great for kids and adults! My son has no problem steering this at all! I appreciate the actual rubber grips! They feel good, and are holding up well! Like I said before, everything on this controller is high quality and no shortcuts seem taken! It is used about 3 times a week, and as you can see from my pics I attached it to a sturdy metal chair where he can sit before it and use the pedals. You can spend as much money as you want for a racing wheel, and the price of this I found VERY fair! It's worth the extra money compared to their cheaper version. This item has been holding up great! Never had an issue with it whatsoever, and it's been taken a beating! It took a little experimentation on the best way to set this up. It does have to be wired into the system, so keep that in mind when setting it up. I did a bit of research before buying, and HORI made a great quality wheel! They have another model that is cheaper, and that is also a great choice if it fits your budget, but this one is made of better quality materials and has really good vibration and feel. The biggest question I get is if it is fully compatible with Switch 2, which according to Hori it is! I do not have a Switch 2 but I believe their website. While it is mostly used for Mario Kart, you can actually use the controller for any game like a controller, though its not the most convenient. SETUP: You can use both suction cups or the clamp feature. The suction cups always came off for us, so ended up using the clamps. The suction cups seem high quality and do seem to stick well, but maybe I just have good enough material for it to stick GAME PLAY EXPRIENCE BY GAME: I would do a search for best games that work with the HORI wheel for Switch 1 or 2, but below is my experience: Mario Kart 8: Works great! Getting used to the steering takes a little time, but I find this with every game. The whee is fantastic with this game! I find steering works best with the wheel set at 180 degrees rather than 270 degrees because the turns are intense in this game! GRID AUTOSPORT: Excellent! The pedals on this game are some the of the best! Gear Club Unlimited Two: Excellent! Fast RMX: One of the best experiences I had with the wheel! Horizon Chase Turbo: I love it! The game is too fast for my son, but I love the challenge of this. When I fail, its my fault! Road Redemption: Have to remap the pedals, then its all set! NOT THE BEST FOR THE FOLLOWING: Rocket League - Just can't remap the controls to where it's a good experience! Asphalt: Doesn't work well with the steering on this wheel! Overall, this wheel is a great entry level steering wheel that will last you a long while and more advanced options/features than the cheapest wheel. If you want to experience a fun way to drive for your kids or yourself, I HIGHLY recommend it!

This wheel is a much needed addition to the Switch - let's face it, those ring wheel things are just silly - and it is well constructed, with a robust arcade quality feel. NOTE: To get the most out of the Hori Deluxe Pro, you will need a stable, heavy desk and to which you must clamp the wheel using the provided bits and bobs. The suckers are not enough alone: you'll end up shifting the position of the wheel around the desk during the tense parts of the game and you have to try to steer and push down at the same time to avoid this happening. But with the clamp in place, it's rock solid, you can take on any hairpin curves and it won't budge. I bought it mostly for Out Run and Mario Kart and it works brilliantly with both of them. We have two wheels (two Switches) and using the wheel for Mario Kart really levels the playing field. It's challenging, but in a fun way. The pedals could be a little bit further apart (and different in design) but they work fine. Just make sure you pull the footrest/grip out on the pedal unit or it will never stay in place. With the Switch having the definitive home version of Out Run, the Hori wheel gives you as close as you're gonna get to an arcade experience in your basement. The wheel gives much needed extra precision for weaving through traffic, something that is hard to do on the joypads. The wheel works perfectly out of the box with the two games I have tried, although I recommend increasing the sensitivity by one step and reducing the dead zone by two steps. This wheel is actually rather nice. It’s not on par with a Logitech or Thrustmaster setup of course, but it has a surprising amount of software customization and reprogramming of buttons available. Sadly, Mario Kart doesn’t work well with this wheel, or any wheel to be honest. It’s too fast paced and arcade-y to not just be hampered by all the functionality. If you really want a wheel stick with your joycon in a little holder. However - as a middle aged retrogame enthusiast who uses my son’s switch for games older than him, this wheel is *fantastic* with Virtua Racing and Outrun; both available via Sega Ages on eshop*. Just make sure you toy with the sensitivity settings on a per game basis. I’d never really given either game a try before and I fell in love with both using this wheel. And it’ll work as a PC wheel in a pinch too. *In fact, every Sega Ages release on eshop is worth having. They are universally fantastic ports with quality of life upgrades.

Vroom Vroom! We got this to play Mario Kart World on the Switch 2 and my wife is now beating us handily with this steering wheel! Setting it up is a bit more involved, though not complicated (need to get the button sequences correctly) and using it to move around menus etc is a bit cumbersome (some buttons don't work as expected) but overall a great experience!

This thing is awesome! I can't play racing games without it anymore. If you have a racing game you played with a controller in the past, you can replay it with this and it will turn it into a brand new game. Almost every single button and the pedals are assignable. That means if your game allows you to assign throttle and braking to analog sticks you can have analog gas and brake pedals. So amazing. Don't let the bright red plastic and Mario logo fool you into thinking this is a Childs toy, this thing is legit. There are a couple of racing games I really wouldn't want to try this with, oddly enough, I would never even consider playing Mario Kart with this. But most games I have tried have been an improvement with this wheel.
