Nintendo New Galaxy 3DS XL... Worth it!
Color: Galaxy
I have ordered a Refurbished - Excellent: Nintendo New Galaxy 3DS XL. Through Amazon's shipping, I received this beautiful New Galaxy 3ds xl early! The system had everything with it to get started as I was provided with a charger with the system listing I had chosen through CaveGamers, and it did have the stylus. I've thoroughly inspected the New 3ds xl exterior and interior. The exterior barely any cosmetic wear whatsoever! There's not much that could've been concerning. There was maybe one or two surface level scratches on the top and bottom of the case, but you have to go out of your way to notice or feel them. No chips in the paint and I like how the Galaxy shines! As for the inside of the system, it's also in excellent condition. I tried out all of the buttons and they felt snappy as they should. There wasn't any damage or scratches on the screens or other cosmetic damage that I was able to tell. All that I needed to do was let the system charge as it was dead on arrival. I ordered a replacement battery as I know these systems and their batteries are starting to reach their end cycle. The battery currently in the system looked fine but was barely bloating so I'm upgrading with a new regardless. Either way, the new 3ds xl turned on after getting the battery to full. I was welcomed to the setup screen. The screens were working as intended too, with no dead pixels and the 3D with its tracking is reliable. Overall, the system looked like it was barely used! While I used to have the old 3DS in Red as a kid, this feels so far as a great upgrade! I am impressed with what I received and feel this is what I would've expected. I'm going to relive my childhood!

Don’t take the chance if it is important to have a certain region console
Color: Galaxy
finally received my order I ordered the OK status for refurbished so I expected a couple issues. A bunch of screws are actually missing completely backpay. Only stays on with the screws the parts that are supposed to clip in on the sides do not battery came critically low with no charger. System was pre-modified advertised as a North American region with the whole XL on the case as well as in the product name device was actually a modded region swapped Japanese console to make it look like a North American console the Japanese console is the LL so if you need to do things that involve the E shop just know there’s a chance you will get a region swapped console which will not have access to the E shop stuff. Obviously E shop is shut down now, but you can still re-download software that you’ve downloaded before and update software if there’s updates product was advertised falsely by advertising it as the Excel version which is North America when an actuality was Japanese version LL. The part that is frustrating is the Japanese version is about 50% cheaper than the North American version so I paid North American price for Japanese.

I love this thing
Color: Galaxy
While I’ve wanted a 3DS for years, it was hard to justify paying almost the price of a current generation console for a handheld device. Which I wasn’t even sure how much I would actually use. I would always read about games, especially RPGs, that couldn’t be played anywhere else. But finally after getting attached to my sons 3DS, I decided to get one for myself. While it was listed as refurbished ($160 i think), my device must be brand new. It didn’t have so much as a fingerprint on it, and the screens and buttons appeared untouched. My model seems to have the more favorable IPS screens that come standard in the newest ones. The image quality and 3d is amazing. Probably my favorite aspect is how tactile everything is. After a while I forget how small the viewing area is, and I’m absorbed into other worlds that I hold in my hands. Its a different experience than i could get from even the nicest TV. And I was unsure about the C stick, but after some practice I love using it in games that have a free camera. Like in Xenoblade Chronicles, for an example. I only wish that I had gotten one of these sooner, because it seems the 3DS is at the end of its life cycle. I’m trying to catch up on all of the classic role playing games I’ve missed out on, like Bravely Default, Shin Megami Tensei, and Etrian Odyssey. And a couple of my current favorite games are “Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask” and “a Link Between Worlds.” While the image quality in general can seem kind of low, games that have 3D effects change everything entirely. It’s still awe inspiring every time I move the 3d slider up, and characters and scenery suddenly become physical objects. It puts a completely different perspective on whatever I’m playing, that i can’t get from anywhere else. My only complaint about this little system is the battery life. The higher quality visuals and 3d of the New 3DS XL come with a price...if you play with the 3d cranked up, make sure there is a power source nearby. And charging times don’t seem overly long, but I’ve never timed it. Overall, if it’s in your budget and you think it might be worth it, then it probably will be. You can play everything from massive RPG worlds to classic remasters and brain teaser games to keep occupied with for just a few minutes. I also recommend the leatherette carrying case with Legend of Zelda on it. It holds several game cartridges and keeps your 3DS safe. Personally I prefer the physical games, but if you go digital it only comes with a 32 gig SD card, so you may need more storage

Nearly perfect!
Color: Galaxy
Seller: Base Electronics Overall, the condition of the console was great. The unit feels very sturdy, and the hinges are tight—it takes a bit of force to open and it snaps shut nicely. All buttons appear to be fully functional so far, and I haven’t run into any issues. The console I received was reshelled and still had the protective film on it. The colors look great, but it did not come with a serial number. The screens are practically flawless, although I did notice a few dust particles under the screen protector, which I hope won’t cause any issues down the line. I also noticed that some buyers received a charger with their unit, but mine did not. That may be seller-dependent, especially since this console originally did not come with a charger. Overall, I’m happy with what I received. The main downsides were the missing serial number, the dust under the screen, and a slightly misaligned shell—but it snapped into place after a small adjustment. If you’re buying a unit, this might be one of the more reasonably priced sellers. *case and screen protector were not included

Like New

I usually don't write reviews, but as someone who is extremely late to the game on getting a New Nintendo 3DS XL I felt I should write something. I am pretty picky when it comes to buying used anything, and would always spend a lot more if it meant i could have brand new, but it seems it is impossible to get those anymore since they were discontinued a long time ago. After looking all over i decided to take a chance on this refurbished and i must say im extremely impressed. Pulling it out of the box, it came packaged well and it came with the manual and AR cards. No AC charger, but that was always the case with these as far as i understand it. I think you can get one for $5 anyways, so no big deal. My biggest concern before purchasing was appearance and functional parts, and this excelled at both of those things. I found microscopic abrasions on the outside casing, but you wouldn't notice unless you put a bright light and magnifying glass on it. So overall, very happy with the condition of the unit. Second, i was hoping that all internals would be functional. It successfully connected to the internet, data transfer, etc. Camera works, 3D stabilization works, auto brightness adjustment too. Battery was charged to 50% when i got it. In conclusion, if you are like me, take comfort in knowing this is easily the best option option if you are in the market for one of these in 2020.

Expect some physical defects, not perfection.
Color: Galaxy
It works and is intact but with some astrix in the mix though. Dust and what appears to be hair stuck between the touch layer and LCD layer plus a soft small gouge in the upper right corner of the lower screen likely from the refurbishment process. Is it a little annoying? Eh not visually because you can tune it out after a while but it does sour the premium price of 410.00 USD on a resell item. Am I gonna send it back? Not gonna risk getting something worse and have already transferred all my personal games to it anyway after a botched DSLite purchase because the port was cheaply done. If you are looking for top quality getting your moneys worth... Maybe go second hand market, I would not make this buy a first suggestion anymore, if you want something that will likely work with the chance to send it back for a complete refund in 90 days, this is probably the safest/quickest. Buttons do click nicely and all controls work, the case creeks but that's more on Nintendo's engineering of the plastic molding snaps, replaced the battery with a higher capacity one while I was upgrading the micro SD 4GB that was provided to a 16GB. No major technical issues outside getting stuck on a black screen when closing and opening the clam shell with Pokemon Platinum running. Was smooth to mod and feels good in my hands, they ship it with only the basic software nothing extra included, by yourself a charger ahead of time.

This is great...for 2 months.

October 2024 (Keep reading to see update...) This is my first ever 3DS XL/LL and I am so pleasantly surprised with what I recieved although I did notice a few things that might be notable to others who also plan on buying one. Originally, it was supposed to come in within a week but I ended up recieving it within only 3 days! (This might vary where you live). The 3DS also comes with a standard charger and it was package really neatly covered in bubble wrap within a small box. When I inspected the 3DS I noticed a lot of things especially the back cover which says it's an LL (japanese ver) but when I opened the 3DS up, it wasn't region locked and ran normally like a normal region free 3DS. I also noticed a lot of small dents around the 3DS, the most notable one being the one on the top of the DS where there is a huge visible crack and a hole. There's also smaller dents around the 3DS but they are only really noticable when hit at certain lights since they're quite small. The SD card cover was also slightly more yellowed compared to everything else on the 3DS. These visual effects probably won't even bother me since I plan on adding a case and decorating it but it's important to know/expect that there might be defects or blemishes since it is a renewed game console. Besides that, everything works and it's in great condition! Update: December 2024 The touch screen has now given up on me within only 2 months. For something that costed $300, this is disappointing. I've taken care of my 3DS since I first got it. I've never dropped it, played it and stored it in a safe place, even making sure to have a case and screen protectors. Even with the best care, protection, and set up, it still became broken. I have bought another 3DS elsewhere and in comparison, it was more affordable, is lasting me way longer, and looked way nicer with barely no scratches at all. It even came in with its ORIGINAL charger and case. For the second 3DS, I only had to pay $150 which is half the price. Of course there is a solution, to bring it in and have it fixed somewhere or even fix it myself, but a $300 refurbished device that is expected to be in very good conditon, this is disappointing.

Do not buy this their items are tampered with and are re shelled
Color: Galaxy
This is the worst experience I have ever had. I have purchased the galaxy new 3ds xl and payed extra money for it. When I got the product I saw the worst I could ever see on a 3ds everything was rebuild to the tee. The whole shell of the 3ds looks like it came from alliexpress with the back shell looking like it’s bulging up from the super low quality of the shell. When I turned on the device i checked the 3d effect immediately and was even more upset that the 3d was none functioning regardless of how I placed the slider. I don’t recommend this company at all and will try to get my full refund. This is so absurd as to how they would sell something this low of quality. They then place a warranty sticker when the original console didn’t come with it since obviously they didn’t want me to tamper with internals and didn’t want me to see what they have tampered with inside the console. Please watch out for renewed products from this seller at all cost.
