  • Amazing!
It works brand new and looks barely used! I wouldn't know that it was used if it didn't have very small scuffs on the side. I've had so much fun playing on it. Only downside is the EShop has been discontinued so you have to buy games physically

  • The coolest gadget I have ever owned.
Firstly, if you are buying this game console strictly to play games, and you do not care about augmented reality, the 3D screen, 3D camera etc. You are purchasing the wrong device. What you want is a Nintendo DSi XL, which comes with the amazing longer battery life feature. If you do want all the extra cool features for the same price, then buy this product without hesitation. The pros: The 3D is as good as they claim. I had to see it for myself before I believed it. It feels well constructed and durable. I expect it to last a long time with proper care. The color finish is beautiful and easy to clean. I use a micro fiber cloth. If you like gadgets you can spend hours playing with this thing without ever putting in a game cartridge. It comes with built in software and a ridiculous number of features for the price. It combines all the cool stuff I have wanted for the past couple years in one pocket size device. It even plays MP3 and wireless internet via WiFi. The cons: The 3D viewing angle could be a bit wider. This may be technically impossible, but maybe not for those voodoo-working witch doctors that made the 3DS. Because you are required to move around a lot and press buttons during play, it is hard to maintain your viewing angle. ... show more

  • It’s not broken but it’s not good and I paid way too much for it
When I received the 3DS I thought it would come in the original box, because I paid 204 dollars for an original red 3DS and for now this year i think it should at least cost 150-180. But I just scratched that off easily, what bothered me is when i opened the console. The hinges of the top part of the console was flimsy, the D-pad had its paint chipped and chiseled, and the screen had a lot of smudges. And I don’t know if this is normal but the console takes a bit to turn on, it’s a old console and I get it, but I thought for 200 dollars plus, it would be slightly a better system. I don’t know, but still i was pretty heated about it, and more heated of the fact that is was updated to 11.17.50. I couldn’t even browse the dead eshop or do anything potential since the new update blocks a lot of community made stuff. I really wish I can return, I really never did one before, but this is really a disappointment. Not by the fact of the condition of the console, but the fact that it was 224 bucks. God. ... show more

  • Great system
I've been a huge fan of the Nintendo company ever since I was 6, when I first had an SNES and gameboy. I still have those systems, but now, at the age of 23, I've upgraded to a Wii and 3DS. The 3DS is a powerful system that, while it does not have a large amount of battery time, more than makes up for it by utility (as well as a longer than usual power cord). Just like a smart phone, it can access the internet and take photos and videos. For comparison, when I first bought an Xbox 360 in 2009, an extra $50 add-on was needed for internet access. I don't care where you stand on the console wars, but a handheld device being able to connect to the internet that costs half as much as an Xbox that automatically can't is absurd. The catalog of games is worth mentioning, too. Of course, the old favorites have been modified into 3D with extras to keep the game play somewhat fresh (but honestly, who here hasn't played through Ocarina of Time at least 12 times through?), and new Mario, Donkey Kong, and Starfox games are readily available. I'm even willing to admit that the new-gen Pokemon games aren't half bad. Definitely a system worth buying. ... show more

  • Amazing little thing
At first, I was a bit concerned that the screen was very blurry on 3D mode and that it would hurt my daughter's eyes, so took off the 3D completely. But then when I finally managed to inspect the game on my own after she put it down, I realised that you have have to look at the screen directly (and not from the sides) in order to view the 3D effect properly. It was utterly amazing! We havent used the game much, but I will come back at a later time and comment on my findings. The only odd thing is that its a bit weighty, but very beautifully crafted (we got the red). Because of the metallic finish, I will have to get a case for it to avoid finger print/ smudges. I am sure it will work out to be just fine because my daughter had the DSi for three years and it never went bad. It was so sturdy and well built that I was able to pass it on to some of her cousins. Will be back at a later point after testing the various features. ... show more

  • My opinion of the 3DS...
I bought a 3DS because my old DS Lite broke. So I decided "hey, if you're going to buy a new DS anyway, might as well get the newest generation of it!" ...sigh... I thought that there would be a lot more to this sytem than there is. Not that I didn't read the reviews or anything, it has more to do with playing this system in person than taking somebody else's word for it. So right away I started comparing it to the old DS Lite: --Plays all DS games! --Takes pictures in 3D and 2D (uses right lens for 2D) --The 3D gimmick actually serves to give the illusion of enhanced graphics. --Touchscreen works just like every other DS before it, only registering one touch at a time. --The buttons are a lot more ergonomic and stick out (namely the triggers) while the START and SELECT buttons are flush with the system and require a little intentional effort to push in. --And finally, a super great working microphone. I ended up winning a PlayStation vita free from Taco Bell, but it was way before I started thinking about a new DS. Once I compared the 3DS to the Vita, the Vita won in capabilities and game variety, hands down. There are a few things that I was super excited about for the 3DS which I found out weren't that great. For instance, the first game I bought was Super Mario Bros, the NES game. When I started playing it, super anxious, I soon got bored... I never get bored playing it. So I bought Donkey Kong for Game Boy and was a bit happier because that game is way more fun. So adding Game Boy games was a really wise decision on Nintendo's part. NES, I would have preferred to see games like Castlevania and Mega Man. That would keep me from wasting my money on JXD and Dingoo consoles. One thing that would definitely make this system dominant over the Vita would be porting Game Boy Advance and SNES games to the system. it's just that there's so little to do on the 3DS that it hardly seems like a convincing buy. The graphics of DS games on this system is poor, as the image is stretched out to fit the upper screen at the same width as the lower screen, so some text looks crappy (i.e., Pokemon names in Black and White). But the AR (Augmented Reality) stuff is really neat, so they scored a win there. To its credit, the 3DS isn't a "bad" system. It's just not a huge improvement over the others. Nintendo needs to either add more improvements, boost their game library to include systems that dominated the 16-bit era (Link to The Past would be the highest selling game, that's my prediction), and if they intend to utilize the 3D gimmick that's fine, I'm cool with that, but their screen resolution is too low to make games look good when it's off. I played Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and when the 3D is on it's awesome but the 2D reveals the game's low resolution on-screen. Compared to the Vita's impossibly high resolution, the 3DS is seriously on the verge of domination. Oh, and the web browser works but the screen resolution makes it a bit of a waste. 3D video isn't bad though, autosteroscopy seems like a really cool idea when done right. ... show more

  • Excellent Condition and Arrived Very early
The console appears to be in great shape as described. It's used so there are some small expected scratches on the outside of the case, but the screens are in excellent condition. It appears to function perfectly and charge (though I didn't have a game to test yet. I'll update if that's not the case.). The screens are crisp and clear and the 3D function works well, as does the on/off slider switch. Perhaps the best part was that the item arrived before the first date in the estimate, which worked out great because it was a time sensitive purchase for us. Really happy with the purchase on initial arrival and power up. ... show more
