The media could not be loaded. This review is for the 1500W Ninja UltraCrush Kitchen System I've long been a very serious home cook. I left New England in my 20's to attend culinary school in NY and while these days all cooking is for family and friends, the cooking bug bit hard and seems not to be going anywhere. One of my favorite appliances, is a top of the line blender, that rhymes with bite a bricks. But that blender has been moved to storage, because THIS blender outperformed it at the task I use it most for! Which is blending frozen fruit and/or ice with yogurt and other smoothie ingredients. Test number one was in the largest blender container. Frozen fruit, ice, banana and yogurt. ZERO LIQUID. Was it loud? You bet. Did it rip through those ingredients and had them down to a perfectly smooth, no chunks of ice or fruit, drinkable smoothie in record time? Also, you bet!! I couldn't believe it. I thought I was setting the baseline, that it wouldn't be able to accomplish this task, and then I would work backward from there, seeing what tweaks needed to be made, in order to get it to smooth puree. I figured I'd be removing chunks and re-adding them slowly, or adding liquids but none of that was necessary. It performed perfectly, first shot. I drank my delicious smoothie just moments later. Test two was for the larger, wider food processor. Although I am anticipating I'll use this for pesto (which I make frequently) and salsa, on this day I had fresh berries and I just wanted to see how smooth they'd come out in the yogurt. Again, I was blown away by the performance Ninja provided. It was perfectly smooth (short of straining seeds which I didn't want to do) and silky. Last test was with one of my new favorite kitchen items and that is the personal sized blender cup. I tested it with ice and cranberry juice and it turned the ice to snow, for a perfect frozen drink consistency. I can't WAIT to test this with coffee! So for indivisual smoothies, there's no scraping the contents of the large pitcher into another container, it's blend right in the cup and go, and cleanup is just tossing everything in the dish washer! The only issue I had with any of this system was with the food processor attachment. Since the blender lid is square, the arrows line up and click into place so that the latch to close it can snap down into place pretty much without even thinking about it. The round lid on the food processor bowl took a few tries to line up correctly, so the latch to close it would go down. But this really wasn't a big deal, and is just a matter of getting used to it, not any defect with the product. All in all, I think this is a genius system and I am excited to see what Ninja comes out with next! ... show more
