This over all is a very good product, easy to use and install, and the color coded posts make wiring easy to us.. Really the only reason I gave it 4 stars, is the fact that the ground post has to have a wire ran from the inside of the box to where it bots down on the frame of the trailer.. they should have a peice of strapping that runs threw the box to the frame to keep it water tight.. ... show more

    • The screw head can pop through the strap

When you go to tighten the screws to clamp in the wire harness - if you tighten them too much - the screw head will pop through the strap rendering it useless in keeping the wires down. They should have included a more sturdy (or reinforced) strap. This happened on both units I purchased.

So I bought a seven pin box with the wire. Going to your vehicle already attached. I put that one in front. And then I bought this box to put on the back side of the trailer cuz I ran all new lights and wires. It's nice having two boxes. One box on the front and one box in the back. A nice having two grounds as well. He really keeps your wires tidy and a very organized. My only gripe is the dark purple is the brown and wire. And the orange is the red. So just so you know. But outside of those little color things it's no big deal. But it's really good box. Good weather tight. Good ceiling seem strong just as the other one I bought for up front. Great product. This is a good, solid 7-way junction box. I've probably installed well over 100 of these in various versions. This box is a great value. It comes with plenty of extra grommets, and all of the internal hardware needed. The clamping strap is plastic and it pulled the screw head through when I was clamping down on the incoming cord. I added small washers and was careful not to over torque. Metal would probably be better. The lid also only fits on one way. Not a horrible issue, but sometimes these boxes are in less than accessible areas and trying to put the cover on that fits, bit won't fasten one way can be frustrating. The internal terminals seem strong and didn't break when torqued. I'm very pleased with the price. Only time will tell on the box strength. My previous one lasted 6 years. Fingers crossed this will endure the sun and road wash. ... show more

Nice concept to help with re-wiring an old trailer. I bought this because my trailer has several 12v accessories that need to tie in - lights, breakaway box, power tongue jack etc. the box gets pretty crowded after you run all of that plus the standard wires inside. The box has I integrated wire clamps on some of the “knockouts” but they are thin plastic and don’t really grip the wire. Also the box is not self grounding via the mount bolts, so you need to run a wire out for that. Finally note that the included color code diagram is incorrect for 7 blade RV plugs in North America. ... show more
