  • A Soul-Stirring Journey Through Time
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4
As an avid fan of the Nier series, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the latest installment, Nier Replicant for PlayStation 4. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! This game takes you on a soul-stirring journey through time with its beautifully crafted world and emotionally charged storyline. The attention to detail in the characters, environment, and music is unparalleled, making it an absolute treat for the senses. The combat system in Nier Replicant is fast-paced and engaging, with a variety of weapons and magic at your disposal. But what really sets this game apart is the multiple endings that depend on the choices you make throughout the game. It adds a layer of depth and replayability that is hard to find in other games. One of the standout features of Nier Replicant is the hauntingly beautiful soundtrack that perfectly complements the game's themes and atmosphere. It's a true masterpiece that will leave a lasting impression on you long after you finish playing. Overall, Nier Replicant is an absolute gem of a game and a must-play for any fan of the Nier series or action RPGs in general. So grab your controller, immerse yourself in this breathtaking world, and prepare to be taken on an emotional rollercoaster that you won't soon forget! ... show more

Game came in perfect sealed condition, over I got many hours of play time and would definitely recommend anyone that’s a fan of the Nier games or rpg/ openworld/ hack ‘em fighting style would enjoy this game.

  • Amazing music, writing and story, limited game world.
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4
The original Nier was one of my all time favorite PS3 games. In my opinion it has the best writing of that generation, and the story structure was unique and amazing. Also the soundtrack is unforgettable. This remaster ups the graphics, reduces the load times, and improves the combat. It’s objectively the best way to experience Nier. Granted the things that annoyed me about the game are there too. The side quests are really terrible and all involve backtracking, which really grates on you because there’s already a ton of backtracking in the main story. We’re talking about 5-6 areas to explore in the entire game. Be prepared to become very familiar with each one. my advice is to accept all side quests but only complete them if it’s on your way through the main story, otherwise you’ll likely burn out on the game after traversing the same paths over and over and over. They don’t give you EXP and the gold you earn can be won more quickly with a couple runs through the junk heap. If you can get past the limited scenery and constantly revisiting the same physical areas, you’ll be rewarded with excellent writing, a haunting and unforgettable soundtrack that still stands as one of the best ever, and an amazing story arc unlike any other (until Automata at least). ... show more

  • One of a kind.

True tearjerker. Wonderful story, great characters, great voice acting. The combat is a bit linear but fun, just don’t expect Automata’s intricacy. Adore this game.

  • Good game, unfortunate handling of pre-order bonuses.
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4
Nier was one of my favorite games on PS3 and such an unexpected treat. It's great seeing it updated with better graphics and a more refined battle system. I won't go into the story much, just keep in mind that the atmosphere depicted in the beginning is pretty much there for the entire game. Aside from the graphics and battle system smoothing, the core game is unchanged from the original. This includes the various side quests and grinding to get items to upgrade weapons. And, yes, even the original planting mini-game with the frustrating Moonflower quest. While I'm enjoying the game, I'm taking a star off due to the way the pre-order bonus issue has been handled. Lots of people have not received the bonuses, including those who have ordered through other stores such as GameStop and Best Buy. Unfortunately, Square Enix tells people to reach out to where they pre-ordered the game, and the stores apparently don't have much information, either. Overall, great game, good upgrade, but things could have been handled much better regarding the advertised pre-order bonuses. ... show more

  • Great Game, No Preorder Bonus!
Platform For Display: PlayStation 4
I would rate the game 5 stars, but gave it 3 because didnt receive the pre-order bonus like many people here. This is what I've done so far in trying to resolve this issue: I contacted AmazonHelp via twitter and they gave me a link to fill out for support. Received email from Amazon stating to contact them. Was able to connect via chat, kept getting transferred to different people via Amazon Customer Service chat as none could help. The last person i chatted with stated that Square Enix is supposed to email us the code, but that didnt make sense since I purchased it on Amazon. Chat transferred me to a call with another Customer Service and I explained the issue and how many people online and in the game review section have this same issue. They stated that they will submit my issue and since many people have the same issue, hopefully it's being investigated further. Then they stated that I should receive notice via email within 48hrs, if not to call back. I contacted Square Enix and they stated Amazon issue. Will update when I get any news. ***Update*** So changed my rating to 5 stars for the game but would give Amazon 1 star for the preorder bonus issue. Square Enix states this is Amazon issue since they have preorder bonus codes for the game. After contacting Amazon via chat and phone multiple times again and them giving me open ended responses or passing the blame to Square, I saw on twitter that you have to reach out to Amazon's Promotions and Marketing team. I emailed them that this need to reach the Promotions team as regular Customer Service has no Idea, I provided very detailed info on the issue and screen shots of the product specifically stating preorder bonus on their website (lucky i took them before they removed it) and also told them that others resolved this issue by Amazon sending them the code. After they finally emailed me back with the code to download the PS4 preorder bonus material. ... show more
