This paint brush set is much better than I was expecting - I'm impressed! This set is great for watercolor and acrylic painting, and is also handy to have for paint-by-number painting. I really like the range of sizes and styles of the brushes. The brushes are very good quality - they are synthetic goat hair mixed with real goat hair. They hold paint and water very well and are easy to clean. The canvas case that holds the brushes is made very well. It zippers open and has holders for all the brushes. The brush holders are attached to the case with Velcro - you can peel this up, bend the holders in half, and they act as a stand. Very handy. I have another set of miniature brushes that I use for paint-by-number kits that I can tuck into this holder - there are no pockets for these additional brushes, but they still fit inside the zippered case. The plastic palette case is also made well. The plastic is strong and sturdy. There are two lids to this case - the top lid can be removed to access the paint palettes, and the bottom lid can be removed to access a storage area for the included sponge and paper pads. The elastic strap holds this case together very well. I've never used a wet paint sponge before when painting, but I am learning how to use these grey sponges, along with the included paper pads. The sponges definitely keep acrylic paints from drying out while you're painting. The paint palette is deigned well and is very useful for watercolor painting. Because this set can be strapped together, it's easy to bring with me when traveling. The palette wells hold the water and paint very well. I do dry up any water before closing the palette, but I have been leaving the watercolor paint in the palettes. The lid on the palette keeps everything neat and tidy. The included instruction sheet is very helpful and is clear and easy to read. I'm very happy with this kit, and do recommend it. I do not paint models but I do paint with acrylic and acrylic gouache very often and a stay wet palette makes that so much easier. I was interested in this set as you really get a lot included. I was impressed with the brushes and the included case. You really get a good variety of sizes and shapes and the case would be great for travel or even just storing between uses to have all your brushes together. I appreciate that you get multiple sponges to use as well. Most of the time I've seen sets only give you one to start with so knowing I have replacements for the future is great. There's plenty of palette papers included as well. The Palette has an elastic band to help keep the case shut though to be honest it feels very secure when I put all the pieces together. The brush rest is a nice bonus, and the included wells are a good feature for someone needing more mixing space. I just make sure to keep a misting sprayer on hand and mist the plastic wells with water to keep the paint wet. Overall this is a really comprehensive set of good quality. It doesn't take up a lot of space on my desk and is extremely well thought out and functional. I think it would be a great addition for anyone looking for a stay wet palette with a lot of nice bonus items/features.

This set is incredible. Its almost overkill for my needs as a serial hobbiest but I am glad to own this and will use it for years to come. My current hobby fixation is needlepoint. To needlepoint, you must handpaint your canvas to know what stitches go where. I needed some fine point brushes for this. Canvases tear up paint brushes so I may not use this set for that because these are too nice. They are detailed brushes and a nice variety set. The handles are lacquer painted and numbered by size. The case also works as a brush easel and storage case which is nice. This also came with a reusable pallet and wet pads. I look forward to picking up painting again and giving these a try.

Been wanting to get a stay wet palette and miniature high detail brush set for a long time to paint my ultra small models. 20 /0 spot brush is the finest brush in the set. But the best thing about the set is the fine foam pad and palette paper. It keeps the paint moist while not diluting the paint. I use acrylic paint and it extends my paint from drying out for multiple projects so I don't waste paint. The paper and palette set is absolutely worth it. The brush assortment is high quality and also worth it. I think i would have preference extra spotter and liner brushes but its ok cuz it has a very good brush variety. Awesome set definitely recommended.

There are two main goals that this set is successfully addressing: detailed painting with tight spaces, and keeping the paint wet on the palette. There are 12 good quality thin (small, tiny) brushes included for tight painting and finishing the details, in addition to four other dry brushes. It is more than enough actually and I'm not sure I have to use all of the brushes for details, however, nice to have. The second focus is not only to keep the palette paint wet, but an added side effect of that is that you won't be wasting paint. The palette lid is tight and it comes with a strong elastic band to keep it pretty shut at all time. It is also nice to get that generous amount of hydration paper to keep the paint wet (100 sheet are included). My advice is to try not to use too much water when mixing the paint though. However, there are 4 strong sponges included within this set as well. Another nice piece is the brush reseting plastic holder. Overall, this is really a nice kit and provides a versatile features and good for many applications. Even though it is described for acrylic painting but I think I will mix and match other brushes to use this palette with gouache and maybe watercolor too.
