  • This is just paper... why am i so excited about paper!?
Style: Wet Palette 100pc Paper Refill
I've had a chance to use this new wet palette paper day before last. It's unbelievably good. No curling, very durable, ZERO bubbling and even the edges of the paints remain moist. But probably my absolute favorite thing is that the paints don't absorb a bunch of water overnight, over-diluting your paints. This is especially helpful if you're mixing custom shades. This is not hype, this is the real deal. Here I am, gushing over paper, but it's really THAT good. Also, the sponges in the wet palette kits are the best I've ever used as well. I love these guys! They provide some great products at excellent prices and no matter where your skill level is they have what you need. I included a couple photos. The purple paint is by GW and has been on this paper for 2 days, lid replaced when not in use. No drying on the outsides at all. Minimal, if any, dilution from from water permeating the paper and completely smooth and devoid of annoying, paper-drying bubbles. These papers will save you product. ... show more

  • Wonderful product
Style: Wet Palette Original
“I have never had anything like this before, and I've painted for almost 64 years. Most of my life I have used oils, but a couple of years ago I challenged myself to go back, after 40 years, and try acrylics once again. It was a tough thing to do, as the acrylics handle completely different. One of the problems I had was to have my paints dry up before I finished the area I was working on. I paint with a lot of detail, so it takes a lot of time. I believe I threw away as much paint as I used, maybe more. I was hesitant, when I first heard of this product, as there is always someone out there trying to sell you something to make you "a better artist". I received my wet palette, easily figured out how to set it up, and put it to use. Wonderful! I worked with it for the past week and have yet to have my paints dry up. It's especially important when you are mixing colors to be able to go back to them. I will definitely recommend this product to my students, and the artists I am in contact with. Plenty worth the money. Unbelievable! I am very happy with it. And, by the way, this company has some wonderful detail brushes. I was given a set of the Minute Series XII, detail brushes by my son. They are now all that I use. They did not treat me like a number when I contacted them. I have found a home with them.” JESS ANDERSON ... show more

  • Convenient palette, with a caveat or two.
Style: Wet Palette Original
I love this palette. It's absolutely amazing, and I won't paint without it. It's easy to use, it holds moisture very, very well, and the dry palette is a really handy feature. The reasons this doesn't get the full 5 are: * The dry palette is hard to clean. * The top wet palette can't actually keep your paint past one session (bc gravity). * The bottom palette starts to smell rough if you leave it closed for more than a couple of hours. The first one is kind of a problem; I thought it was sturdy enough to chuck into the dishwasher after my session (top rack!), and while the dry palette survived it didn't actually get clean. I'm going to have to go in and manually scrub the thing with some heavier cleaners than I currently have, or let it soak a while in isopropyl. The second one is a bummer, because one of the main reasons I bought this specific palette was that my wife and I were talking about starting painting at the same time, and we figured this would be a really cool way to manage it. However, because of the way the thing works, only one of us gets to save our colors til the next session. Perhaps the engineering dept. can work on some way to resolve that issue that won't destroy the other convenient features of the palette. (Also, mine came with sponges that never wound up being the same size. Weird, but doesn't negatively affect performance in any way at all.) The third could easily be solved with some kind of tiny, pinprick airhole or something, which you can do yourself as a consumer. I haven't because I'm lazy. But yeah. Overall, you will not regret this palette. It has the most and best features of any I looked at, and I'm more than pleased with it. If they make any improvements to the design, I'll be first in line to get v2. ... show more

  • Actually keeps paint wet
Style: Wet Palette Plus
I waited 4 weeks to write this review to be sure. I use gouache primarily and after 4 weeks of use and not refilling or remoistening the sponge pad everything is as wet as when I squeezed it from the tube. The middle portion admittedly I haven’t used yet as I’m not as interested in it I ordered this product primarily as a stay wet palette with brush storage which has been wonderful. If anything everything stays a little too wet and I might wring the sponge out a little more next time as some of the colors are still so wet they’ve run together. Very pleased that nothing is moldy or disgusting and most of all nothing has even come close to drying out yet. I highly recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a stay wet palette for gouache (that’s also cuter than the other ones out there tbh). Size wise it’s about the same size as a small sketchbook but it is 3 layers so it is quite thick probably about 2-2.5 inches thick. It just sort of sits together with a band that acts as a fastener mostly so I probably wouldn’t want to travel with it full of paint. Though it is somewhat airtight or the paint would dry out. So use at your own risk for that or keep the sponge not as wet and it would probably be just fine. Overall really really pleased and this will be my gouache palette moving forward! ... show more
