I got this Nicpro miniature painting set to help my son get started with painting Warhammer models and it’s been a good buy. The brushes are surprisingly nice for the price and the variety of sizes makes it easy to do both fine details and drybrushing. The wet palette is a cool addition and keeps the paint usable way longer than I expected. Only thing I didn’t love was the sponge in the palette—it started to smell a bit funky after a few days and needed replacing. Not a huge deal but worth mentioning. Overall it’s a great kit for beginners or casual painters. We’ve already used it for a bunch of models and it’s holding up well. Definitely better than grabbing random brushes at the craft store.

Nice pallet, I like the neoprene sponge, I was also surprised by how nice the brushes were... normally I'd just toss the brushes bc assumed if they came with the pallet (which itself is pretty inexpensive) they'd be cheap and meh. But no, dry brushes are legit and the others are pretty nice. My only gripe is the paper. You get a ton of it so I guess that's the tradeoff. The paper doesn't seem to soak up water like other wet pallet paper, and it curls aggressively, even after soaking in water. The paper will mostly stick to the a sponge but unless you leave the sponge pretty wet it stars curling pretty much immediately. Besides the curly paper, this is a great pallet, the "bonus junk" is pretty good and useful.

I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of this pallet and the brushes. The information included is clear and explains that the brushes come with a protective layer of glue and how best to prep the sponge and paper for best results. I will be purchasing again for loved ones because this pallet is a great way to reduce paint waste and keep the focus on creating art!
