Got this because I've been wanting to try painting minis for a while and finally sat down and got everything I needed. This worked very well, though the paint dries pretty quick in the wells and they were a pain to clean. Next time I'm definitely going to the sponge for holding my paint and I'm sure that will keep it moist longer. I love all the different brushes, I've only used three of them so far but having options is nice.

4 stars ONLY because I've not used it long term, only a few times. This is a great set with every tool shown. While it is advertised as a set for painting minatures, I bought it for working with acrylic paintings. The small brushes will work well for portrait details. I have very limited space for a "studio", so this compact set fits the bill. With an elastic strap to prevent accidently opening it, it will work for travel too. A note: everything fits snuggly together. The strap is just extra assurance. One of the pads was hard while the others were soft. It softened after soaking in water, so I am assuming that it will be serviceable as well. It came housed in a sturdy box that can be used to store the extra foam pads and paper.

Incredibly useful and a great deal. The brushes it comes with have also been extremely useful for painting my minis since they come in many sizes, including some very small fine detail ones when a comfortable grip.
