I have reviewed countless of these paint sets and I gotta be honest here, all the Nicpro sets I have reviewed have all been great. I’m not positive who they have partnered up with to create their paints, but they aren’t cheap. The paint quality has been at least mid tier in about 95% of the colors. Which is about average to above average in a mid range set. Not to mention the price value kicks them up a few more notches. One thing I’m always impressed by is that all the Nicpro paints now all have (lightfast scales) for each color. This is something you don’t get with most of these paint sets being sold lately. It may sound like a worthless thing to know for most people, but for an actual artist, knowing that lightfast scale is very important. Nobody wants to find that a nice piece of art they worked hard on will soon begin to fade and lose its bold coloring. This Nicpro paint also runs very smoothly through my airbrushes. I have ran it through my workhorse priming brushes and my fine detail brushes with no issues. I have never had an issue where it was too thick to work with. Yes, the colors will definitely need to be thinned a bit when dealing with detail needles, but it thins out nicely. My one beef with this set is the pour nozzles on these bottles. I have always hated this design. If the paint inside that nozzle dries up, you may get those hard flakes of paint drop into your mix the next time you go to pour paint. That will lead to airbrush clogs. For this reason, I would suggest that you pick yourself up some airbrush paint strainers. It’s worth having them strainers instead of having to strip your airbrush apart and clean it out because of those clogs. This set does come with a palette, and even though it will work, it’s definitely just a cheap one. But it will do the trick if need be. As for the paint brushes in this set, well, they aren’t much better than the palette. They are also lower quality. They aren’t terrible, but not a brush I would ever choose to use. But once again, they will also work if need be. Just don’t expect them to be of any significance. If I had to place the brushes in a tier, I would probably say they fall into the upper side of low end, maybe the lower side of mid range. Listen, I could sit here for the next hour breaking down all these paints by color and workability. But for this price and what you get in this set, it’s actually better for people to take these for a test drive for themselves. Personally, for me, this set os a 4 star item. Only losing that one star for the cheaper palette and brushes included. I know that Nicpro does actually have some decent brushes in their catalog of products. Just not sure why they choose to include their lower end stuff as the extras in these little kits. Far be it from me to cast stones here, but it’s probably just a way to save a few pennies. All in all, no matter what, the paints themselves are still worth the kit alone. So yes, I would definitely suggest this set to others. In my opinion, this type of set would be great for somebody just getting started in the art world, or somebody just trying to get their supplies section up to par without trying to break the bank. I know this was a mouthful of a review, but I hope it helps a few of you out trying to decide if this is the type of set you have been looking for.

Paints are good for the price. I painted my Hero Quest pieces with it. You will need a wet palette as the paints do dry out quickly otherwise

This miniature painting kit isn's SMALL, its FOR painting miniature figurines etc. I like that it comes with a variety of colors, and different sized small brushes. It also comes with some paint thinner in order to thin down the paint for lighter, more transparent coloring, if needed. The paint sticks to plastic (I've only used it for that so far) well. This is a good value for someone who wants to start painting miniatures without breaking the bank.
