I had my doubts about these, but I was getting desperate. The cats had torn down the previous light filtering sheers including the lightweight sheer rod they were hung on. Can't blame 'em really, their cat tree is right there and none of the window treatment was planned with a stray cat and her litter of insane kittens in mind (the resident adults are all well behaved.) But it was a problem in that this is the living room window and also the room where we have our TV, the light during daytime was getting very annoying. I've never had grommet top drapes before and as a rule I do not like any type of synthetic material, but I decided to give 'em a shot. I must say, the fabric is so closely woven that the cats really can't get their claws into them, even when it's been a while between claw clippings, and they slide very nicely on the rod. Plus hardly any light gets in even around the edges and that little bit is certainly nowhere near enough to be an issue. I would say the Hunter Green color is pretty true to what I'd call Hunter Green and goes nicely in a room that has other green furnishings. Well worth the price and then some.

I love these curtains! We have a set in our room and our daughters room and they work amazing. We have pink ones in my daughter’s room and navy blue in our room. We bought them to create a dark sleeping environment for our daughter during the day and they work perfect! Both colors look as described and the size is perfect for our windows. Made out of thick, soft material that washes well. If you work nights or just like to have a dark room when you sleep these are a must! I wish I would’ve had these when I was working nights. They also help keep rooms cool if that is something you’re looking for.

I have been using blackout curtains for a while now and as of yet, I have not found the perfect one; or is there a perfect one? In the images I am showing you the true color of these curtains (Navy Blue) and how these curtains cover my bedroom from the sun. I did not use any filters on these pictures, simply sunlight and/or no sunlight or light at all. I am also showing you how dark or not too dark the bedroom looks during the middle of the day on a 80+ degrees temperature day with a strong sun and during the early morning around 6:00 a.m. with cloudy skies. The image with the thinnest curtains are my old curtains(the see through curtains)(dark brown); which I have been using for at least 2+ years. Totally overdue for these brown curtains to be changed and that's why I got these navy blue blackout curtains. I just wanted you to see the comparison of the darkness of the room with my old curtains and the new ones. Do you see a huge difference? The material on these navy blue blackout curtains is soft, thick in a good way, but not completely wrinkle free as you can see in one of the images. They are easy to install and they do make the room somewhat dark but not completely. So far, the best time these curtains darken my bedroom was during the early morning and when the sky is cloudy. For the energy efficiency, I still got to keep trying them to see about that, but they seem promising with potential. I will see... I also do not know how long will these curtains last without fading with the sun like my old curtains. Overall, it is a decent product; but a little pricey since it really does not give my room 100% blackout. There are many other similar curtains that are cheaper and will most likely get the same or maybe even better results. If you live in a place where is cloudy most of the time, these "blackout curtains" should darken your room very, very good.

If you want some noise barrier and most of the light blacked out you will not be disappointed. If you need the room fully blacked out perhaps contacting product support on the best method to hang these to fully blockout sunlight would be helpful. I ordered the size required, tried hanging them different ways (one panel vs two panels etc), and still had some light sneak through only the top and bottom. Light is not getting through the actual fabric. The quality and thickness are nice with these curtains, and they have a nice weight. The black backing on this product is of good quality. I tried hanging them different ways to fully block out light, but the light did shine through at both the top and bottom. I did not want longer panels as the size I ordered was quite a bit bigger than the window and frame. I will probably need to order longer ones to hang them higher to block out more light for a fully dark room. The light was too bright before so there is a huge difference having only some light slip through the top and bottom of the curtains. They did help block out some sounds which was nice. The passing traffic is loud and the curtains cut the sound quite a bit. I can still hear the big trucks pass by, but it isn’t as loud as it was before placing the curtains. Cons: If I need a fully dark room I would not buy these again. Pros: The fact they cut most of the light and provided some noise barrier I definitely would buy them again if the room doesn’t require full blackout protection. Shipping was fast and the curtains were carefully packaged. These curtains offer an excellent weight, thickness, and quality for a simple yet elegant touch to your windows. They do come with wrinkles but running steamer across the curtains and the wrinkles fall.

If you are on the fence just buy them. I have owned many “blackout” curtains in the past and these by far are the best. The black on the backside really works. They are thick and totally keep almost all light out while also looking nice. I also live within a mile of an airport and I even noticed a difference in sound levels. I would buy them for every bedroom in my house if I needed more. High up on the list of best $25 I have ever spent.
