Put simply, it’s an extendable metal rod, not super heavy duty but solid enough, like the ones you’d use for your bathtub/shower except for two differences, it’s not spring loaded, one end just slides freely through the other end (minus for having the plastic ring where the rods connect clear/whitish plastic instead of black like the rods, I got lucky and was able to hide it behind a bracket, or else I would have painted it black ) and the second reason is it has the screw on round decorative ends. It’s nice looking when it’s in place, Was looking at several brands, so when I got this, even though it is the one I decided on, had a brain f**t and thought they sent the wrong non adjustable brackets that slide forwards or back from the wall that I would have preferred( have the option of moving the pole a bit further from the wall would have been nice) but they look fine, come with all hardware, just don’t over tighten the securing screws to the poles, they will scratch through the paint. I think overpriced for what it is, but apparently that’s what the price range is for these poles but still recommended.

I bought this rod in Antique Brass to go with NICETOWN Sliding Door Curtain Extra Wide, Grommet Top Vertical Decorative Voile Sheer Drape Curtain Panel Window Treatment for Hall/Villa/Patio, Beige, 1 Piece, W120 x L84. The weight of the rod and end caps feel solid. There were no instructions. Tips: If you are buying a single curtain to cover a patio door, only install the end brackets and not the one in the middle. Also install the end brackets farther out beyond the window to allow the curtain to cover the window edge in spite of the brackets bring in the way. I think the end caps have an attractive, classic modern look bring simple and a pleasing color that goes well with the beige curtains yet will complement many other color curtains as well.

First, I have to say that I did not personally install these rods as I am totally clueless how to use a drill and figure the whole procedure out. My husband does all this kind of stuff. I asked him for his input in order for me to write the review. So here goes: first he absolutely hates all things China, I mean DESPISES! So, after hearing him rave about how bad the product was going to be because it was made in China, he actually grudgingly admitted the rods were much sturdier than he'd thought they would be and wouldn't even have to use the middle backet on the longer rod I'd ordered. The curtains were very lightweight though, but, even so, you may or may not need the middle bracket. They were that sturdy! He grumbled about not including any instructions whatsoever in either size rods I'd ordered, or that there was no information included on what drill bit size to use. I wasn't concerned however, because he's the type who can figure out anything on his own, rarely reading instructions. He just likes to grumble, as I said, about all things Chinese, LOL. It didn't take him long to have both the long width rod and the short width rods installed to perfection! They look great with that perfect matte black finish I love! Will definitely come back to order same kind of rods for another bedroom and bathroom. Love the look! There were more than enough other materials included, screws or whatever, to complete the job. If you are a handy person, you should have no problem installing them. If, however, you are like me, then more explicit, step by step instructions would have been helpful.

DO NOT USE THE SUPPLIED DRYWALL ANCHORS (they will push into the wall when you try to screw the screws in). Other people wrote this and I didn't listen, so here's another reminder. The curtain rod itself is nice and sturdy, but one of the rods came with a ton of chips and green marks on it. I got this size not needing the third rod, so this was fine for me, but just be aware. The edge of the rod I did use had some chips that I can see even though the end is attached, and the rod also had green marks on it, but that part was covered by the actual curtain. Overall, I chose this one because the curtain rod mounts in two spots so it feels more secure and I wanted a neutral design but quality wise, it could be better. They are fine, though.
