  • Massive Specification Failure -- Good quality router bits.
Style: 4Pcs Roundover Bits 1/4" Shank
Before going on to reviewing the bits themselves, we have to talk about the elephant in the room. What is being offered is a set of router bits that (in the set that I ordered) is purported to contain 1/8", 1/4", 5/16" and 3/8" radius round-over bits. These measurements are incorrect. What was delivered was 1/16", 1/8", 5/32" and 3/16" radius round-over bits. It appears (I'm speculating) that someone measured the tool diameter and subtracted the bearing diameter to get the specification. But this will give you the diameter of the round-over, in other words, twice the radius. The photo comparison shows a true 1/2" radius round-over bit next to the purported 3/8" radius round-over bit from the set. Properly specified, the 3/8" round-over bit would be 3/4 of the size of the 1/2" radius round-over bit. The only saving grace -- and the reason that I give these router bits 3 stars -- is that they actually do cut very well. If they were accurately specified, I would have given them 5 stars but I cannot condone delivering something that is different than advertised. I can recommend buying them if you are aware of the true sizes and the true sizes are what you need. Alas for me, I really could use a 1/4" and a 3/8" radius round-over bit and I certainly did NOT get that. As for the 1/16" radius round-over bit, I'm really not sure what I could use that for. You can get the same effect -- with a whole lot less set up time -- by using sandpaper. Edit: It appears that the Amazon page has been corrected (at least for the set that I ordered) to show the correct sizes. Accordingly, I am upgrading my rating to 5 stars. ... show more

  • Good quality, but half the size described in the listing.
Style: 6Pcs Roundover Bits 1/4" Shank
When I opened these bits I was surprised. They seemed small compared to what I was expecting. Then I measured them and they are smaller than described. Each one is exactly half the size that is given in the listing and half the size printed on the containers that they came in. See the first picture. That's the one labeled as half inch and it is a 1/4 in. radius. It turns out that I'm OK with that because I was looking for small sizes, though I'm not sure how often I'm going to use the smallest one which is about 1/32nd of an inch. You can get that with a few swipes of sandpaper. I got this order in late December, 2023 and the labeling may get fixed, but that's what it is now. The other pictures are the results on cherry of the cuts from 3 of the bits. The (actual size) 1/4 in. bit is the picture where the wood is labeled #1. The cut was very smooth with no burning. The 1/8 in. is the picture labeled on the wood #2. That cut was smooth, but there is very light burning. The picture #3 is the cut from the 1/32 in. bit and I could hardly see it when I was there looking at it. So, I like them and I'm glad to have them. I just hope you read reviews before you order things. ... show more

  • Great set of round over bits for your router
Style: 6Pcs Roundover Bits 1/4" Shank
This is a cost effective set of round over bits for your router collection. They came individually packaged, which was nice and are sharp. Work well with my 1/4" Ryobi router!

  • Good Router Bit Set - Incorrect Radius Specifications
Style: 6Pcs Roundover Bits 1/4" Shank
I ordered and received the NICAVKIT 6 Piece 1/4" Shank Round Over Bit Set. Each router bit came in a reusable soft plastic storage case. The only issue I found with this set is that the radius sizes listed are incorrect. The bits are listed as having radiuses of 1/16",1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2". In reality, the listed sizes are twice the true size (i.e. the 1/2" bit is really a 1/4" bit, 1/4" is really 1/8" and so on) - this detail ended up taking away 1 star from an otherwise 5-star set. I have attached a picture of a cut made with 1/2" labeled bit that shows that the cut is actually 1/4" radius and a picture of the bit with a 1/4"radius template. I used all 6 bits in my router table on Maple, Pine and Plywood. Each bit worked flawlessly, the cuts were smooth, and there was no burning or chatter. The smallest bit (listed as 1/16") has such a tiny radius that it was difficult to see the cut and I am unsure what the purpose of this bit is. I believe this is a very good quality set, especially for the price - as long as it is understood that the radiuses listed are double what they actually are. ... show more

  • Nice 1/4" shank router bit round over set.
Style: 6Pcs Roundover Bits 1/4" Shank
The NICAVKIT 6Pcs Roundover Router Bits are very nicely made. The set includes the 1/16", 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" sized bits. This is a nice variety, but I'm not sure that I will ever use the 1/16" bit size (time will tell). These router bits have carbide teeth, which will give them fairly long life with proper care. I really like the fact that each router bit size has it's own 1/4" shank and bearing. My previous roundover router bit set only had 1 shank and 1 bearing. I had to disassemble the router bit whenever I wished to change the radius size for my wood working project. This is why I decided to try out this router bit set. So far, these router bits give a smooth cut, but they are fairly new at this point in time. I will update my review if anything changes in the future. They do what I need ... round over board edges. I recommend the NICAVKIT 6Pcs Roundover Router Bit 1/4 Shank, Carbide Tip set. ... show more

  • Sharp and cut without burning the wood
Style: 6Pcs Roundover Bits 1/4" Shank
The media could not be loaded. I use a lot of router bits from the big names and normally don't pick up these cheaper brands. I think these are a pretty good value. There is an excellent spread of sizes here in this package that I got. I didn't have any cherry wood laying around to test them on, unfortunately. Cherry is the wood that seems to most likely to burn with a dull router bit, but this cut just fine on the maple and cedar that I did try it on. I like that they all come with the little plastic cases. I can throw them in my packout box without worrying about them hitting the cutters on other things. They are well protected in these little plastic cases. I included a somewhat shaky video of one of the bits cutting. Sorry, for the poor quality video, but its hard to hold the router and my phone at the same time! It left behind a nice cut quality and left no burning at all. I don't know how long these bits will last, but for the price, I think that is ok. They are good right out of the box. I'd recommend them for a woodworker that needs a good variety of round over radius bits. ... show more
