I recently purchased the FoxAlien XE-ULTRA 8080 CNC Router and wanted to share my full experience. Out of the gate, there were two hiccups: 1. **Delivery issue** – The original shipment was damaged in transit but was rectified. 2. **Product issue** – while assembling I had wire harness issues but technical support was offered to correct my issue. I reached out to FoxAlien support on a Sunday evening expecting to hear back in a day or two. To my surprise, I had a response within **2 hours**. The rep asked for a couple of quick photos and a short video. By Monday morning they had already shipped a replacement. The replacements arrived in just 3 business days, and Lisa followed up twice to make sure everything was working perfectly. Once the minor issues were sorted, the XE-ULTRA 8080 has been an absolute beast. The build quality is solid, the extended 8080 work area is perfect for my cabinetry side projects, and the new linear rails make movement buttery smooth. Cuts in hardwood and aluminum have been clean and repeatable. Bottom line: stuff happens in shipping and manufacturing, but FoxAlien’s customer service is legitimately top-tier. They didn’t make excuses, they just fixed it fast and kept me in the loop. That kind of responsiveness is rare these days. Would I buy from FoxAlien again? **100% yes.** In fact, I’m already eyeing their laser module for this machine. If you’re on the fence, pull the trigger – you’ll be in good hands. Highly recommended!

great starting bit set

These bits are great, perfect variety to get me started in my CNC endeavors. Only a four star because when the collet "snaps" into the nut, the bits don't fit. It's a slight tolerance issue; nothing that makes them unusable, but something to be aware of.

long after the 30 day, 2 month later I am running a project this weekend. It was worth the wait.

I watched my husband use these on his CNC router and was impressed when he forgot to calibrate his machine after changing tools, which caused the machine to push the bit deeper into his stock than he intended. The bit totally destroyed his stock, but nothing happened to the bit. I thought for sure it was going to break. Not even a scratch. The stock was about a 1/4” of HDPE. This is one of several kits I got my husband from various vendors, and he said that he liked that these came with a downloadable tool library he could import into Fusion 360. He said it is a huge time saver and ensures all the measurements are correct in the tool.

I've noticed that these CNC bits do look quite shiny, and the cutting quality is slightly better. However, as a novice CNC hobbyist, I don't believe the price justifies the marginal improvements. I paid about a dollar each for a similar type of bit, and I don't see myself spending that much more for just doing hobby projects in my garage.
