These controllers are so functional. You can't beat the price especially when it has rumble AND gyro built in. Other 3rd party controllers don't have these two features, which are very useful for me. Only thing it doesn't have is nfc but I never use it. Love the USB pass-through so you can charge while playing. Only issue is when you're playing and need to plug the USB cable in to charge, it will disconnect. You can quickly resolve it by putting the switch to sleep then wake it up again to get it to recognize the controllers again. This means you do not have to unplug and replug the cable, unlike what other reviewers mentioned. The connector is very stable and solid -- there are two clips on the side to hold the console. I have no issue with it being loose. I do not get disconnect errors unlike with my Joycons. The only thing I wish it has is a rubberized right stick. Only the left stick is rubberized. This is weird because they give you 3 swappable options for the right stick but all of them are smooth plastic, so your R thumb can easily slide off the stick due to lack of grip. Other buttons feel great -- face buttons feel Xbox/PS/Pro controllers, dpad is very clicky like the Joycons, which is what I prefer. I've been playing my Switch in handheld more since I got this. I wasn't expecting it to be so good, considering the price. The grips are thick and comfortable, the joysticks are smooth, and the motion controls are responsive. if I would criticize one thing, it's just that the triggers feel slightly cheap, plasticky, and loud. also, you'll probably want to switch out the right joystick for the concave one for better control. it's really easy to just twist off the joystick and swap it. I haven't seen any other controller pads with this option so it's nice to have. ... show more

This thing is solidly put together & I found it much more accommodating then the average joycons. My only problem was after about a month in the A button retracted inside & I couldn’t use it. With nothing to lose I opened it up & surprisingly this device is much easier to repair. I managed to fix the A button by resetting the rubber cross, but found out the interior wires that connect the bumpers are not very solid. My momentary joy of having fixed the A button was gone the second the bumpers failed to register as button presses. All that aside I would definitely consider getting another one in the future. ... show more

I am having trouble with the Left Joycon on an original Release day Nintendo Switch. I purchased this Grip and it works fantastic. Just slipe the screen into the center section and the molded in Side Controllers word like the real thing. The unit is a little bulky compared to the Nintendo JoyCons but it works Fantastic. The only thing that you Can Not do that I found so far is when you get a new game and you want to collect the Nintendo Points for each game does not work. I had to add the JoyCons back onto the sides and it worked fine. Highly Recommended for the Nintendo Switch having JoyCon troubles. ... show more

Basically the shape of the controller and the placement of the right stick and the D-pad are terrible. Albeit, the concept of the Nintendo Switch makes it literally impossible to design an ergonomic controller for it in its handheld form, it simply can't happen: buttons and sticks need to be offset from each other in order to be ergonomic, but it's simply not possible to achieve that with the thin and very separated slots allotted to controller space. That being that, you're gonna be contorting your hand in some weird ways to reach the right sick and D-pad which are located directly underneath the buttons and left stick respectively. The other thing is, and is actually the larger problem, the way the grips are designed makes it so the screen will always be canted 45⁰ forward so you're not looking directly at the screen, you're looking at the screen at an angle as the bottom (where the charging port is) is more towards your face. So in order to make the screen be right in front of you, you have to do a weird claw grip which is insanely uncomfortable. Other than that, it works fine as a controller, but that's it. It's functional, just not practical. Edit: I've been using this for a month now. It does not get better, this is quite honestly one of the worst controllers I've ever used. I brought these because I noticed some problems with my joycons and I thought it was my switch but it really was just the joycons. I brought this to test em out and I was very impressed with the quality of the controller. It was very easy to connect with the switch and it feels good when playing it. You can change the joystick anytime and I really gonna give bonus points for that. Once you stick the switch in it, it stays in place and doesn’t come off even if you tried shaking it, the switch still stays and I have to say, it doesn’t feel cheap. Overall, I was very impressed with the controller. Probably my favorite advanced switch controller out there and for the price it comes with, I say it was a great purchase. ... show more
