5 stars for the value, ease of assembly, and the look. However, it ain't maple, it's the ubiquitous particleboard in which I subtract one star as the first one arrived split in two. That's right, I had to return it. But kudos to the seller (and Amazon) for the surprisingly decent service. The engineering of this piece was flawless! Not one screw, nut, bolt, dowel, peg, had to be forced into any misaligned hole. Only one insignificant part was missing. But I did receive extra parts, (also insignificant and useless!) So, First off. I love this unit. Easy to build and very sturdy, but I had huge issues with nicks and dings on the visible surfaces. However these cosmetic issues were possibly caused by the horrific shipping this thing went through. I live in Florida and the product was expected to arrive on 8/17. First Shipping update said it was in New York on 8/12. Next shipping update..... It was in California on 8/17. Why would it go from east coast to west coast back to east coast? This thing showed up on 8/25 in a box that looked like FedEx drug it from the back of the truck throughout its journey to mordor and back. Hopefully whoever buys one of these it doesn't go through this horrific road trip. Because my unit is beat up. ... show more

For the money this stand is pretty nice. Assembly was simple and took me about 45 mins by myself. That being said, I should have read the product description better because this stand is very short. I was planning on setting my tv on it, but now I think I'll have to mount it on the wall above this stand as it would be sitting way too close to the ground.
