I would rate this purchase as okay, but I should have just purchased similar length 10 gauge marine grade wire instead of paying more for this kit. I ended up having to dremel out the positive connector to fit the terminal on my Minnkota battery box. I expected that part and it worked out fine with little material lost on the connector. The 2 brass bolt connectors work, but I ended up scrapping that and put a plug on my trolling motor cable and the end of the extension kit for ease of use which is why I wish I had just purchased some wire. I could have done the same thing much cheaper. I rate this as a 4 star kit because it does work as advertised. I'm not knocking their product. It appears well made. My fault for purchasing this when I could have done the same thing for less money with better thought and planning. ... show more

I bought this cable to go with the trolling motor to extend the wire length. It is real sturdy 8 gauge wire and did exactly what I wanted it to do. Unfortunately I had to send the trolling motor back because it wouldn’t fit my boat. No fault of Newport Vessels, the customer service there is awesome!

This cable set allowed me to place my extremely heavy deep cycle battery in the bow of my 12 foot Pelican Intruder Jon boat. I weigh 260 and distributing the weight allows the boat to perform perfectly.
