This trolling motor cable extension kit allows for the quick and easy lengthening of motor wires without impacting the performance of the trolling motor. The Newport Vessels Trolling Motor Battery Cable Extension Kit contains high quality components and the cable pair itself appears to be very well made. However, all four of the rings on the ends of the red and black cables have 5/16-inch inside diameters. In my application, I was better off purchasing separate components. The 5/16" rings on the Newport Vessels cable fit too loosely on my 1/4" battery terminals. The terminals on my Minn-Kota 1820175 Trolling Motor Marine Battery Power Center case are 5/16" (black) and 3/8" (red). The Newport cable's 5/16" rings will fit the black terminal but not the larger red terminal. Why splice wires together when you have a single, long appropriate guage wire that will hook your trolling motor up to you battery. This was such a clean and easy job to perform. Great choice!

I bought this cable to go with the trolling motor to extend the wire length. It is real sturdy 8 gauge wire and did exactly what I wanted it to do. Unfortunately I had to send the trolling motor back because it wouldn’t fit my boat. No fault of Newport Vessels, the customer service there is awesome!
