I've used this cable about eight months and it's seriously great. - It coils nicely - it seems really durable (I'm pretty gentle with my equipment though) - it has a nice feel to it - it's just the right length for everyday use, lengthy but not too long - it's just the right length to use with a phone - the source (input) end is nice and grippable - I've almost never had it tangle - it fits right into my headphones (M40X) It has a couple minor quirks: - [for M40X] the output end (that inserts into the headphones) isn't easy to grasp once it's in place, but I got used to it and it's a non-issue now. - the size of the input end may make it incompatible with your phone case. I cut a bigger hole in my phone's case for this and it fits great now. On the plus side, I love how large and grippable the jack is and it does have screw threads for the 1/4" adapter, if you're into that sort of thing. Seriously, buy this cable. ... show more

Five stars, especially when compared with the original Audio Technica cables: - More choices of cord length (I got 1.5m). - Half the price. - No noticeable difference in sound quality. - The cable "locks in" to the headphones, just like the original cables. - Minor point, but this cable looks cooler. It's actually red underneath the black woven fabric (only really visible in the sun), and I like the aesthetics more than the plain original cable. Other notes: - Both of the original cables that came with the headphones failed within two years, so their build quality isn't great. - Both of the originals failed in the same way, with one side of the headphones getting only 30% volume. - I have yet to see if these will last long, but the build quality appears good, and I am glad I went with these replacement cables for half the price. ... show more

    • Almost perfect... But one flaw makes this hard to recommend.

I've bought this cable 3 times over roughly 3 or 4 years. And I want to love this cable. It IS good. It sound GREAT. But the problem is one design flaw that over time completely kills the cable over normal use and it's the only reason it has EVER broken on me. The major flaw with this is the 2.5mm end of the proprietary L lock connector breaks where the rest of the cable connects. 3/3 of these cables have broken due to this issue. What sucks is all you need to put there is some kind of spring or something to keep it from bending like the normal M50x cables! It cuts off the audio on one side on and off before that side dies entirely. If it weren't for this flaw I'd likely be on my first cable and would be giving this 5 stars because it's just that close... it's only this issue that causes this cable to be a deal breaker for me. ... show more

so far, so good! i bought this due to the fact that the original cable tends to poke my shoulder. normally this wouldn't be an issue but since having shoulder surgery anything poking my shoulder can be painful. i haven't noticed any sound deterioration at all. i'm very happy with my purchase

The audio cable that comes with the Sennheiser HD 560S is 10.5 feet long. I needed a much shorter cable (3' to 4') to reach from my computer to my office chair and had not been able to find one as the HD 560S was only recently introduced. Contrary to the answers in the Q & A about this item, I can report that this New Fantansia upgrade cable is fully compatible with the HD 560S and is a direct replacement with the locking feature built into the headphones. How does it compare to the Stock cable(s)? It's way better! The build quality of the cable itself is excellent. The Connectors: The quality of the connectors are definitely better than the Stock connectors. When you lock the Connector in the headphone, twisting the connector does not cause the connector to twist while the rest of the cable does not twist with it. This means you aren't risking damaging the cable whenever you plug and unplug it from your AT headphones. When the connector is finally in the headphone jack it does not cause it to jet out a long ways, as with the stock headphones. The other connector which plugs into the computer is pretty fancy especially compared to the stock. It's metallic with a compressed spring at the end - considerably sturdier than stock. The Cable: It's a cable woven with some very sturdy plastic material. The overall aesthetic of it is really nice. It has a dark-burgundy appearance to it. Length (3M): The 3-Meter length version of this cable i got was perfect for running under my Desk how i wanted to with some leeway! Note that when you initially unpack it, it's necessary to get the loops out, but once all said and done it's great! If you use keep your computer on the right side of your workspace and hate it when the cable crosses over you, then the 3 Meter length is a great choice. In all, i'm very satisfied with this cable. The quality of it deserves a 5 star rating out of me. it anything breaks along the way during normal usage, I'll update this review, but I doubt it will be necessary. ... show more

After watching Z review, I decided to purchase this cable to use it with my Audio Technica ATH M40X. The main reason is that the original cable was too long to carry it around conveniently. Considering its price, the product is well built, rugged, and I am sure it can stand quite a lot of abuse. While I am a heavy music listener, I am by no means an audiophile. But I can say that this cable does not affect the sound quality of my headphone. The only minor issue I have is the stiff outer plasticky braided layer that makes noise when it rubs against itself, which can be annoying when you on the move. That, however, is not a deal breaker. Don’t let that stop you from giving this one a try! ... show more
