The New World folding metal dog crate by MidWest Homes for Pets includes all of the features you will need to provide a convenient, safe & secure pet home for your best friend, from puppy to adulthood. This crate includes a plastic leak-proof pan that allows easy clean-up in the event of an accident. We recently enhanced the safety and security of the New World crate by adding locking tips on the slide-bolt latches to securely lock the door the and patented Paw Block, which prohibits your dog from tampering with the door lock from the inside. New World crates also feature patented rounded side clips that reduce possible sharp points to ensure a safe experience for you and your pet. Every New World metal dog crate conveniently folds down flat for travel. The 30" New World (model B30DD) measures 30L x 19W x 21H inches and is suitable for "medium" dog breeds. Please note the term "medium” breed is subjective. For the best fit, we advise that you check the measurements of the dog crate and select a size that will be suitable for your dog's ADULT weight and measurements. Your dog should be able to comfortably sit upright, lay down, and easily turn around inside the crate. When in doubt, we suggest you purchase a larger crate option. I have a vindictive dog. She is the definition of petty in fluff form. She's about 26-30 pounds of anxiety and snobbiness wrapped in blue eyed cuteness. Don't get me wrong, we love her, just not easily sometimes. If she doesn't get her way, she becomes a destructive toddler tearing up anything her dainty jaws can wrap around. I'm talking blinds, curtains, toys, FLOORS. It was obvious we needed to crate her while at night or out of the house. A week after we got this, she was sprayed by a skunk and had to sleep outside and this was perfect. The metal bars are a bit thinner than I was expecting. She was able to somehow bend one of the rails while we were out of the house but nothing I couldn't bend back to normal. She has also managed to get the tray to slide out half way once but didn't harm it. If she was a stronger dog with the same mentality, she may actually be able to cause some damage to the cage but for her size, it contains her just fine for us. We got the 36" crate for her and it's big enough to put a bathroom rug in it and her bed on top of that and still fit her bowls in it. Overall, I'm not disappointed. I was so happy to receive this in just a couple of days. I just adopted a lab hound mix and she looks like she will need every inch of this crate. On the video I watched the guy was saying..oh you just unfold it out and latch it..yes in theory that is true. However, I think in shipment the latches hooked to the walls they were folded next to which made it impossible to unfold..the easy solution is to have a flat head screwdriver and unlaych it. Then you can fold it out and put it together easily. I have had several crates over the years and they generally last years. I don't think I'm going to get another big dog, give my crate to a rescue..vow to only get a small dog..then adopt something the size of a miniature horse..great crate..I highly recommend this..the price is fantastic..I have paid more money at pet stores in the past. I've had dogs for years and recently added a cute little shih-tzu named Teddy Bear to our pack. I ordered this crate, the one with only one door (don't really see the need/point of two doors) and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it opened up and snapped into place, and how equally easy it was to fold and store. I've had other folding crates that were a real pain in the *ss to fold and re-open, but this one took 3 second, and the tray is heavy duty and slides out for easy cleaning. I've had other crates where the trays would crack or break within a few weeks but this one is made nice and sturdy. I will be buying another for my Golden Retriever, Honey Blossom. She already has a crate (my dogs just like to sleep in them, i leave the doors open and they put themselves to bed when the lights go out) Honey's current crate has a cracked tray and you have to be a magician to get it to open up and fold down without getting frustrated. BUY THIS ONE, no need to look any further. and no, this is not a promotional review, I paid for this crate and I'll be paying for another one. LOVE IT! ... show more

I usually love Midwest Crates. The crate should not have passed quality control. The black enamel paint wasn’t applied thick enough and is rough and not smooth. If the crate wasn’t so big I would have returned, but a pain to return. The handles feel rough to touch instead of smooth. Not sure if they are trying to save money by applying less paint or a quality control issue. 36 inch two door crate. I ordered the same crate 3 months ago and it was perfect. I emailed Mid West company and told them my concerns and complains regarding the black coating. They had me email pictures and info of purchase and sent me a new crate which is the quality I have always liked Mid West for. I am thankful they made this right. I recently adopted a German Shepherd/bloodhound puppy. She destroys everything in her pathway, including my brand new flooring. I needed to find a crate I knew she could grow into as she is going to be a big girl. The vet believes she will be at least 100 pounds if not more, and with those long, bloodhound legs, she is very tall. This crate is so massive.
