  • Works perfectly
Not much needed to say, quality is great and it fits my bmp4k perfectly.

  • Good Cage but better options are available
The media could not be loaded. We are looking at one of the most popular accessory for the blackmagic pocket cinema camera 5k and that is the Smallrig Cage 2203 I believe and we are also going to be checking out different accessories and see how you can built a rig for yourself. So starting with the cage itself, it’s really well made out and strong material, it’s one of th ebig cage compared to smaller mirrorless option and you can see mounting holes all over it and we’ll go each side one by one as well and lastly will talk about the downsides of the cage. The cage fits your camera with two quarter inch allen screws, on goes on the top and it also comes with this small piece that fits into the botoom mounting hole of your BMPCC4k. And in the bottom of the cage, we also have rubberised base and all these together gives a really solid base to the cage. There is absolutely no wiggle or movement event after attaching very heavy accessories all around the cage. Right So let’s look at each side individually, starting from the right side, the cage nicely wraps around the grip of the camera, and we have 5 quarter inch mounting holes as well as one rosette mount, which probably is designed to fit their wooden handle on the side. We also have a complete access to our media cards, and on the top and bottom, they have a mounting holes for the camera straps, and as you can see cage somehow covers the strap mounts but I’ll talk about that in a moment. LEFT On the left side, again, complete access to all the ports, I have removed my flaps that comes with the camera because I am pretty much using all of these at once and it’s really difficult to handle the flaps after some time; so if you are not taking your camera out in lots of dust, it’s just better to remove them. Again lots of mounting holes all around, there is one place to mount their cold shoe adapter on the left and then other are preety much either “3/8 or ¼”. Also, we have one nato rail here, so if you want to attach any accessory or even may be this plate with nato lock plate on side you can do that. Really helpful if you want to switch to smaller setups/ Bottom In the bottom, there’s a place so you can access your battery compartment, and we have one allen wrench magnetically attached to the cage so by any chance if eitehr of this screw gets loos then you can use this to tighten them back. I still recommond to keep allen wrench set because this might be blocked once you put the tripod plate but it’s there and it comes with the cmaera. Also there is a space for fan, are a couple of holes in the front to attach lens supports which they sell separately. Also the mounting holes in the bottom are all over the base, in case ifyou want to use this ot offset your camera little bit to balance on the gimbal you can do that. Top Lastly let’s see the top, so first of all we have nato rail to again to attach any accessory which probably should be top handle. Since we have all other sides covered in this camera, it makes sense to get a top handle to lift the camera from the place while moving. ... show more

  • Another AMAZING product by SMALLRIG
This cage works PERFECTLY with my BMPCC4k! Over the years that I've owned this cage, my camera has accidentally fallen once from a tripod and luckily this cage took the brunt of the force. It SAVED my camera! SMALLRIG offers so many high-quality attachments like grips or mounts that can be added to the cage as well. There are plenty of screw holes to make this into whatever build you need for a shoot and is a must-have for anyone with a BMPCC4k. I wish it was a little cheaper, but for the build quality, you can't complain much. Would DEFINITELY purchase again. ... show more

  • Backbone of the 4K/6K!!!
If you are looking... pause and buy this now! I have three BMD cameras and each have this cage for accessories. The mounting points for rigging options is astounding. I’m glad the price point is low because the accessories that can be mounted tends to add up. Grab an SSD holder, and a top handle for starters. After that, the world is yours... but you need this cage to be a make the most of the camera system (in my opinion). You can add hand grips, articulating arms, cable clamps, cold shoe mounts (mics, monitors, transmitters, converters...). The next phase of your production life starts with THIS. Go for it! • Fit perfectly, more holes than a shotgun target
Great cage, lost of add on options, lots of inherent options with the included holes to better balance the camera + lens.

  • Works as advertised
First off, if you're wondering about getting a cage for the BMPCC 4k the answer is 100% YES. You need to rig this camera up to get the benefit of its crazy specs. Anywho, this cage does exactly what a cage should do - allows for dozens of configurations of accessories thanks to multiple screw mounts and cold shoes while still allowing access to the essential ports on the camera. Want to completely rig out the camera for professional shoots? Done! Need a low profile look that can still fit into your camera bag? Done! There is a tiny bit (like, maybe 2-3 degrees) of play between the camera body and the cage on the x-axis going side-to-side, but that's not something will affect how you shoot. The metal of the cage is sturdy and should protect the majority of the camera body should you drop it, too. The only slight flaw I have with the cage is that it doesn't have as many mounting points as it could, but that's a small quibble. Don't hesitate to give this a go, the price is right and the quality is undeniable. ... show more

  • Bottom Holes not Squarely Aligned
After trying many Small Rig products I'm coming to the conclusion that they are designed individually, in a vacuum, and therefore do not work together. The bottom holes on this cage are not squarely aligned. If you try to mount an Arca Swiss plate, it will only go on at right angles to the lens, not aligned with the lens. This doesn't work for my needs. Their shoulder rig kit has a camera support which is several millimeters higher than their other rod clamp systems and will not align and work together. Hopefully they can address this but components are NOT mix and match. ... show more

  • A must
If you really want to protect your camera, and be able to build a rig for it, then you should buy it right away, I was looking for a cheap option to build my rig, but it was either cheap and poor quality or super expensive and almost as much as what i paid for my camera. This is just perfect in price and quality. If you love your camera, do yourself a favor and buy it right away. ... show more
