Very good Alternator - honestly, I think it is new
Solid alternator — works exactly as expected. My original unit needed a new rectifier, and while I had it apart I planned to replace the brushes and bearings as well. Unfortunately, the rectifier was backordered, so I picked up this alternator from the lower‑cost list as a stopgap. When it arrived, it looked very good, in fact it looked new. I put it on my Weidenhaus Alternator test bench spun it up and applied the carbon pile producing 112 Amps. Solid, good enough. (Yea, yea, I know - not everyone has a test bench. My family used to own an Auto Electric shop. I have a lot of these cool antiques in my barn. I even have an 8-cylinder Magneto Tester, in fact all of the magneto tools.) It’s been a reliable replacement, and I was able to keep the original core. I’ve since rebuilt that unit and set it aside for future use. For the price, this alternator was a smart solution that kept my truck running with minimal downtime.

works like a champ
this replaced an alternator that would produce overvoltage conditions. old alternator was overcharging the battery and caused catastratophic electrical failure (battery exploded smoking ECM,wiper control module, radio fuse, all running lights excluding head lamps) have not had any problems since new alternator installed.

Works like it should
A lot of people complained about the hit and miss quality of aftermarket alternators for my 96 Ram 2500 with 5.9 Cummins. I figured i would roll the dice as a "factory" alternator was $300 plus dollars . . . and i just couldn't justify that cost on a 250k mile truck. Anyway, shipping was fast, packaging was ok . . . the plastic guard for the charging lug on the alternator was broken . . . this has no impact in performance so I installed it anyway. I changed the tensioner and belt at the same time. The whole project took about an hour. Started the truck and the alternator was charging and I was holding a consistent 14V. Time will tell how it holds up over the miles, but currently, I am a happy camper. I am keeping my factory alternator and rebuilding it this winter as I have time and will keep that in the tool box as a backup . .. Just in case.
