I’m planning to use this alternator as a motor to power an ebike. First the cold weather needs to end and then it will be warm enough to work in the garage. The procedure for the conversion is on YouTube. There are several procedures shown for this on YouTube.

This alternator looks to be well-built, and while I don’t have any way of testing it to its 105A limit, it does generate power. The bearings are both tight and silent, and the housing and coils look to be pretty good quality. I didn’t take it apart, but from what I can see through the cooling slots, the diodes are staked to the field windings quite solidly. I suspect this will work for quite a while.
