I installed this alternator in a 2012 Nissan Altima 2.5 and haven’t had any problems with it so far. The old alternator went bad after 122k miles and was overcharging the battery which also fried the battery. The build quality is as good as any aftermarket alternator and it’s definitely not a reman. It puts out a steady 14ish volts at idle which is what’s needed. No complaints with this alternator. In the last few years, I’ve seen the quality of parts sold at auto parts stores go down considerably and have had better luck getting parts on Amazon. I also have trouble justifying putting overpriced OEM parts on older, high mileage cars that I’m repairing just to keep on the road. I guess I’m just saying you need to know when to cheap out on parts. If I was installing a starter on a brand new Corvette, I would get an OEM AC Delco. On a 2012 Nissan Altima with 122k miles, who cares what brand the part it is as long as it works, and this works. If you’re installing this yourself, there are a ton of videos on youtube to walk you through it. It’s a relatively easy install. Happy wrenching.

didn't come with any new hardware. value is on-par with one bought from an autozone or similar store. took it apart to inspect the coils and rotor. stator seems somewhat loosely wound, rotor looks far better. bearing is very fluid when hand-spun. overall 3 stars as a not-super-tightly wound stator coil does not scream longevity nor durability, and when scraped, the resin coating the coils seems weak, again leading me to question its longevity in the heat of an engine bay.

This genuine OEM alternator proved to be an excellent direct replacement, and I’m very impressed with its quality and craftsmanship. It arrived in brand-new condition, fit 2009 Nissan Altima perfectly, and performed exactly like the original part. Installation was straightforward and took about 40 minutes, with all connections matching the factory setup. The only tricky parts were managing the serpentine belt and transferring the cord clip from the old alternator, but everything else aligned seamlessly. Once installed, it ran flawlessly—no unusual noises or bearing squeals—and delivered strong amperage. The 'Service Battery Charging System' warning cleared immediately. Using an OBD2 scanner, I confirmed a steady charge between 13.8 and 14.2 volts, right in the expected range. The voltage output is consistent, the battery stays properly charged, and the headlights remain bright and stable. Best of all, there was no core charge and no need to return the old unit.
