Plastic tine caps and Uber Goop also repair damaged rack tines and protect new racks. Vinyl tine caps have the added benefit of protecting dishes from rust stains and chipping. With proper prep, Uber Goop helps extend the life of your dishwasher racks saving you the cost of buying new ones at $60-$100 each. Uber Goop liquid pvc comes in 3 colors (White, lt. grey, dark grey) so customers can match it to the color of their dishwasher racks. Easy paint on application and dries fast. FYI: Uber Goop can be used to coat any wire product (except electrical wiring or sheet metal) where repairs are needed or it needs protecting from the elements. People use it on coated chain link fences too.

For really easy application, turn your dishwasher rack upside down and dip damaged prongs into the coating bottle. This product also works on rusty freezer racks. I was afraid it wouldn't dry in the cold freezer but the humidity in a freezer is so low that it worked perfectly.)

This thing is great and a hell of a lot cheaper than a new $200 rack. It reminds me of old school white out. This worked out great. Just remember to take you time and do multiple coats. The places I rushed are now rusted (user error - 1 coat).

Just used this to repair the lower dish rack. Followed the directions and it looks like it might work. Time will tell.

    • Treat for rust, follow directions!
Make certain you follow recommendations about limiting exposure of the bottle's contents to air! Worked like a champ, however I recommend using a 'Naval Jelly' product to remove all rust before you repair your rack's plastic coating!
