I do like these Vitamin C capsules. I was using them fairly regularly. I only use them in my under eye area. They absorb fairly well even though at first the ointment may seem a little “ greasy”. I would give a 5 Star , but they tend to have a stinging or burning sensation sometimes. My skin is intact and without scratches. I think it’s the citric acid content of them.     • It tingles and burns a bit when you first put it on BUT
I’ve been satisfied with the way this seems to brighten up my complexion. I think it seems to speed up cell renewal helps with that full complexion you get as you get older. I always use it as directed, but it does tingle or burn a little when you first put it on, but it goes away quickly and I don’t see any rash or redness that lasts for more than a few seconds— if at all. I always put on moisturizer afterward and my acne prone skin has been staying clear and less oily/dry and more evenly toned and balanced all over. Usually I have an oily T zone and dry areas around my eyes, cheeks and mouth. But using this with a good moisturizer afterward, skin isn’t dull and seems much smoother and more even. ... show more

Had to be carefull and not put it near my eyes. It made my eyes burn and blurred my vision. I thought is smelled a little "perfumey" and I didn't care for it. Also, it is very oily. It sat on my skin but I could also tell that my skin was getting moisturized. It did not repair tone issues that I have but it did make my face feel soft. ... show more

I used this product for years, until it got harder and harder to find in stores. Then I went to Amazon and it was either unavailable or prices were very high. I love this product and as long as price stays where it’s at or not too much of an increase, I will continue with it

    • It's true that it works but isn't a miracle eraser
I've tried other dark spot correctors in past, including VERY pricey Clinique, that did nothing at all despite weeks of faithful use. But Neutrogena said "improvement in 1 wk" which is a pretty bold statement, so I thought ok, why not, give it a try. Well, I was happy to see that it DID show some results after a week of everyday use, more so as the days went on. I concentrate on my 3 dark sun-damage spots (diameter about the size of a pencil eraser.) Been using it about every day for 3 wks now and the sunspots have noticeably lightened. So it DOES work--but I doubt they'll go away completely, plus at $20 for 30 capsules it's not exactly cheap either, if you have to keep applying to maintain results, which I suspect is the case... Still, the spots bother me so much even a lessening makes me happy. I don't bother w/their other products so I can't say about their nighttime creams or whatever but these pods are pretty good. I do make sure I use strong spf if I go outdoors so the sun won't undo the lightening I've achieved. I also don't think it's advisable to go out in the sun while you have the lightener on your skin. I only apply it when I know I'll be inside for a while. ... show more
