The Quad Cortex is, without question, one of the most powerful tools on the market for guitarists who want total sonic control. The sheer breadth of tones available is staggering, and the workflow options make it feel less like a "modeler" and more like a full creative rig you can shape to fit any situation. What really sets it apart, though, is how much further you can take it: pulling amp captures straight from Cortex Cloud, dropping in custom IRs, and expanding your arsenal with Neural DSP's Archetype plugin blocks as DLC means the unit never really stops growing. Despite how much buzz it's gotten in the amp-modeling space, I'd still argue it's underrated. Most people haven't scratched the surface of what it can actually do. Did you know you can run audio out of your DAW through USB to it? Try it with a synthesizer out that way. My mind was blown. My own setup leans into that flexibility: real pedals up front for feel and dynamics, stereo wet effects running through the loop, and then the signal splits, one channel through stereo IRs for that direct, mixed-ready tone, and a second line out driving a tube amp into real cabs for physical air and stage volume. It's the kind of rig that lets you have it both ways, digital precision and analog push, without compromise.
