I had a food saver sealer that finally died after years of use. After a ton of research I finally decided to pull the trigger on this. On first inspection, this was bulkier than I expected. Operation was easy enough to use without turning to the instructions. Light indicators were bright and easy to follow. This sealer does double sealing lines. That is a major plus if you sous vide a lot. Tested with a pound of fresh coffee beans. Sucked all the air out and pack was tight. Bag was fully conformed to the shape of the beans with a tight seal. I tried the second try with Costco bags. Great seal again. Now for the marinade test. It does pull a bit of liquid but does the job well. The time it takes to seal seems a bit longer but glad to wait a few extra seconds to have a seal that does not leak when cooking.

It may take a few more second to seal but it functions well. Not too heavy and easy to store in the cabinets cause I have a small kitchen. So far, I don’t have anymore problem with the freeze burn.

I had a Food Saver that was about 20 years old. While it still worked, it was starting to have issues. Did a lot of research and settled on this Nesco vacuum sealer. I put it right to work with about 50 bags of venison sausage, snack sticks, pulled pork, and ribs. It appears to be pretty heavy duty, but a little bulky compared to my FoodSaver. I like the stainless accent. It has great suction and the lid seal works well to prevent air from creeping back in, especially when using the pulse feature. After vacuuming and sealing you can hear air rush in when the lid releases. Love the fact it includes a pulse vacuum for when you are vacuum sealing liquids or softer items to prevent leakage or crushing. The double seal is the best feature. With my old FoodSaver I found myself sealing twice on each end to create a double seal to reduce chances of leakage, but with this one you just seal once to get the double seal. When reviewing various sealers I was a little concerned that the depth of the suction tray was too far back and would require using longer bags wasting roll material, however, the front edge is slanted so pictures are somewhat deceptive and it didn't take much extra length to reach. I often buy 50' bulk rolls that won't fit in the roll storage compartment (same thing with almost all sealers). However you can put the roll behind the sealer and feed it through the gap between the lid and under the cutter (saves from having to transfer material to another roll to make it smaller so it will fit). Now to things that weren't as good, although mostly minor: when you close and lock the lid there is a delay before you can push a button; it is fairly slow in making a seal; it includes 3 seal options, 2 of which are single and the last is double seal but each time you turn it on it defaults to a single seal and you have to push the button twice to select double seal (I suspect most will use the double seal so would be nice to have it as default); you have to push the buttons just right to get them to work, just because you hear the click doesn't mean it worked; the lift up cutter arm blends in making it hard to see when it is up and I often forget to put it back down when trying to close the lid; the drip tray isn't removable to wash but it is easily accessible to wipe out; while it came with a 8" and 11" bag roll, the 11" roll had wrinkles throughout the roll (would note with the double seal it didn't appear to cause issues). the sealer sits up a little higher which can require longer bags, but this can be remedied by putting something in front that is a similar height to lay the bag on; it doesn't have a cancel button in case there is an issue and you want to stop it; you have to wait a little while between each seal to allow the heat strip to cool off (others I've used you could do several seals before you had to let it cool off; I found that if I label each bag as it completes it was just enough delay to then seal another bag so I wasn't wasting time). While it could be improved I still believe it is a good sealer and would recommend it to others looking for a quality sealer with great suction and a true double seal.

*****Bag Storage & Cutter leaves a nice straight and clean cut. Easy to use *****Canister, I am able to use the hose and cover that fits wide mouth jars that I have from my Food Saver to vacuum canning jars. Does a great job and fast. *****Pulse Vacuum is great for softer foods that you don't want to crush. Really works. *****Marinate: Works with FoodSaver 2129973 Preserve & Marinate 10 Cup Vacuum Seal. I season and puncture the meat, then marinate in this container. Good results. *****Double Seal for moist food is a nice feature for foods like chicken which always seem to have water. >Not really negative, just an FYIs >If you are planning to put it under a shelf it is 9" with cover up. >Bag Storage: Large rolls don't fit. You can't close the top to operate. >There is a good amount of bag used when sealing.

Absolutely love this vacuum sealer. It is easy to use and works flawlessly. I bought this to replace an older vacuum sealer that quit working and all the research I did showed this sealer to be really good. Very happy I made the decision to purchase this sealer.

I've had this appliance for about 6 months with medium use to freeze surplus fruits and vegitables from my garden. It worked well at first but I was sealing mostly dehydrated fruit. Lately I have been trying to seal moderately to minimally moist fruit and vegies, but it often fails to vacum seal them. I have followed the product instructions to dry and clean the bag material very well but even the slightest moisture, like bananas that don't have much juice, often prohibits sealing. This product works well for fully dry food, but not that well for food that has the slightest moisture. Even when choosing the vacum with moisture setting or the double seal option, it often won't seal. It appears the slightest humidity from moist foods prohibit the sealer from sealing. I'm going to have to review sealers again and hopefully will find one that serves my needs. It does seal well for dried foods. The companies R&D department would do well to work on improving the damp sealing capacity. I will continue to try different methods with this product, but my recommendation is review other products before purchasing this product.
