Finally a brace that gives firm support. This covers the upper lumbar and lower sciatic, it has metal support stays that are removable. I love this brace!!!!!!! It is so good to have a brace that actually holds my back up. My back feels like a wet noodle after I have done anything that requires any amount of bending or standing for a short while. Like doing dishes, cooking, vacuuming, laundry, simple things like standing or sitting to long. I have degenerate disk disease, narrowing of the spine, 3 ruptured disks, and had 2 back surgeries. This brace covers a larger area of my back and the metal stays are curved to match the natural curve in the low back. I am able to stand, sit, do dishes, cook, walk, vacuum, and yard work. (...The things normal people can do) with out my back turning into a wet noodle and wanting to scream out in pain after 10 minutes. I have a lower back pain, it works well with back support. The elastic provide an extra tension. Would like to wear under the shirt but the comfort is not there for me. It work well with a shirt.

I absolutely love this back brace! I had left lateral lumbar fusion for L4 and L5 on February 5th of this year. I had an amazing Doctor and a full recovery. I returned to work recently, and chose to wear the very protective back brace given to me in the hospital. It is a wonderful brace, and at the same time, working as a cashier and being on your feet for long hours, it seemed to be a heavy weight for me to carry for so long. That is why I ordered this amazing brace, that does the same thing as my hospital brace; however, not as bulky. I have had several people stop me and ask me where I got that brace and what is the name of the company. Several of these people work in hospitals, or seem to have back issues of some sort. I feel like I am a walking advertisement for your product! I am even thinking of ordering a second one, should anything happen to this one! This works wonderfully. I was a little weary because when people think "large" as far as clothes and utility go, they think 180 pounds for some reason. I'm a good 255 (from 270 thanks to this belt!) The belt actually fits me as an extra-large, nice and snug. It keeps my back from screaming the bowels of hell and summoning hobgoblins into my spine so I can actually work out and take nice long walks since my legs weren't the problem. 10/10 would do it again. ... show more

    • Good for doubling as a waist-shaper, not so good for long hours in a warehouse.

It works. But only past a Certain point. If I adjust it too tight (for more support) the support rods dig into my sides. Wore it while driving and the rod was on my spine and hurt the bone. I adjusted it an inch to the left and it fixed the problem, so it was barely off my spine. I still use it because it is THE MOST ADJUSTABLE out of the 4 belts a bought. But it’s not the most comfortable for working long hours in a warehouse like I do. Would I recommend it? If you want this to double as a waist-shaper then, yes for sure! If you want this for manual labor and working long hours, Not really, No. Not comfortable enough. ... show more

Don't be swayed by how many people rate a product to make your decision as I often have. I felt the comments were so positive, I had to try it. I had one before that was uncomfortable and became unusable. This is an incredible back support and pain relief! I got it because my chiropractor will be out for 3 weeks for surgery and I depend on him to be able to work my desk job. I am hopeful this will help me make it thru work days with pain reduction.
