The email requesting I review this popped up as I am just sitting down at the PC, after a walk and wearing this back brace. Kismet! The brace itself is very well engineered. You can wear it easily over or under clothes. The Velcro is very sticky - which is great. The straps can really pull tight if you need the extra support. If you have a pot belly - you will not look like the guy in the picture. If you look like the guy in the picture - you probably do not need this brace. I bought this brace for walking (also treadmill and bike at gym) and working around the yard, or garage - especially when bending over. For me, I'd be inclined to use this 1) if I felt back spasms or pain (nerve / sciatic) coming prior to exercise, or 2) for longer periods of exercise / training. It can also be of use while sitting for extended periods at a computer. After a month, I can say it functions very well, and it provides excellent support. I'm pleased. Why should you care about what I have to say? I have had 4 neck / lower back surgeries due to congenital spine issues. I have gone through more braces and gadgets - pre and post op than most people should ever endure. I have a wonderful (and obscenely expensive) post op back brace that is bigger than a WWE championship belt. I needed similar support without the bulk. This little brace does the trick so far. Two quick notes. 1) Measure your Belly not your Waist for sizing or you'll be disappointed and will need to order the next size up. 2) Wearing a back brace is not a cure or panacea for back issues. When I say extended periods of time (above) I am referring to 30-45 minutes of max wear time. Most doctors and therapists will tell you not to wear these braces constantly / all day, unless of course they direct you to do so. I wear these as support and to train my muscles and body so I need the brace less or not at all. Independence from the brace is the Goal. I hope this item works as well for you. ... show more

I have several compression fractures in my lower back and needed a good back brace to wear for 3 months. Easy to put on and adjust. The only problem is the front top portion digs into my body. To remedy that I cut off several inches of a micro fiber cloth and tucked in along the edge. That helped a lot. Other problem it rides up when sit down. So I have to keep pulling down. I have purchased numerous back braces in the past. I have spent more money on back braces. I have purchased a Mueller back brace which I never wear because it is uncomfortable and bulky under my clothing. This Neotech Care Back Brace is light weight, comfortable for all day use and has a hire coverage area for the back and ribs. Okay, I am seriously overweight at 6' tall and 247 lbs. Yes, I questioned the sized since my waist is in the 38 inches, but my waist measured around my belly button is 48 inches. I read a similar review about choosing the correct size. So, I ordered a XL & a XXL brace. When I received the braces, I tried on the XL on it fit perfectly. I returned the XXL the same day. If you have tried others and were dissatisfied, you owe it to yourself to try this one. I have been wearing it every day for a week and am very pleased. Pros: This brace is very supportive for the whole lower back which I really appreciate. It is nice to be able to increase the tension with the adjustable flaps on either side. Con: The one big con for me is the velcro holding it together. The velcro quickly lost a lot of its effectiveness which now leads it to simply pop off, which can quickly become extremely irritating. I haven't worn it all that much, so I'm hoping I have a dud. I have had great results with another brace neotech sells so I plan on contacting the seller for a replacement and will double check the sizing. I measured my midsection and ordered the appropriate size, but I'll double check that as well and correct this review if I messed up. Bottom line, hopefully I just got a weird one and I'll update on the customer service. ... show more

It's a back brace, not a miracle worker. I've been diagnosed with spinal stenosis and osteoarthritis with fairly constant pain in my lower back and down the back of my legs. The brace does seem to help when I'm active, walking, hiking, pickleball, tennis, yard work, work in general... the pains a bit more tolerable with the brace on. As far as sizing, I have a 31/32" waist line with a normal stomach (smallish love handles) and the medium brace fits very well. The velcro closures are very secure and wearing the brace on bare skin is not a problem. ... show more

I suffer from sciatica, for several years, I have used a $500 brace (which is heavier and more of a straight jacket than this) to ensure proper posture. I'm really not sure that these braces provide any real pain relief. However, they definitely do help you when it comes to stretching, bending, sitting and standing -and generally maintaining good posture. Now this brace is not nearly as limiting as the professional brace provided by neurologist. But I find it more comfortable, lighter, and more flexible especially for routine chores. The brace is well made and easily adjusted. I don't expect it to last nearly as long as the other but then the cost was much less and I still have them both to use, as appropriate. I am not a doctor to I hesitate to advise anyone who suffers from lumbar problems to use a brace like this one without consulting their doctor first. But I am quite happy with this brace - especially as a "supplementary" aid to maintaining proper posture. ... show more
