Cost Effective, Easy to Use Transfer Paper

For transfer paper, this is the perfect refill pack to go with my Nelko Tattoo Printer. The sheets are the same quality, and the cost is pretty good on the bundles. Obviously, the more you get, the better the pricing, but this is going to be an easy go to for me as I work the transfer paper through my machine for some home projects (glass etching). These are exactly perfect for that and transfer to the glass nicely without leaving a lot of residue (which I'm sure I can clean off if it gets in my grooves from my glass etching work). Overall, this is a good transfer paper pack. The 35 sheets has enough to keep me busy for a minute since I don't burn through them like water (and I won't be using them for leatherworking since they don't come off the leather as easily and leave residue). And pairs with my Nelko paper printer well.

As someone brand new to stencil paper, I encountered a bit of a learning curve. The package includes general instructions, but I recommend doing some additional research before your first attempt. Here’s my experience as a beginner: Printing Experience: I used a Rongta F82 portable thermal printer, and the transfers came out great. You’ll need to feed two sheets into the printer: a blue ink layer and a white tissue layer. These sheets are very thin, so careful handling is key to avoid crinkling or folding, which can affect print quality. I tested two designs: • A bold, blocky peace sign • A traditional tribal sun tattoo with finer lines and details Both printed cleanly with sharp lines and no issues. Hand Drawing Experience: For this test, I doodled a simple smiley face using a pen. This stencil had the finest lines by far. In this case, you don’t separate the yellow top sheet—it’s the layer you draw on. I applied firm pressure, similar to normal writing, and the transferred stencil came out clean and detailed. Again, no issues. Transfer Experience: This part took some trial and error. Initially, I applied a generous amount of transfer lotion before placing the stencil, which caused bleeding and blurring of the ink on the skin. After researching, I adjusted my method: • Thoroughly washed the skin • Applied lotion, then wiped off the excess with a clean cloth • Applied the hand-drawn stencil and applied light pressure for a few seconds. This resulted in a slightly dimmer transfer, but the image was crisp and well-defined with no ink bleed. Rule of thumb: Less is more when it comes to transfer lotion. Smudge Testing: Here too, I learned through trial. The printed tattoos had too much lotion applied, so even after drying, they smudged significantly when touched. The hand-drawn smiley face, with far less lotion, dried quickly and stayed fast even with repeated rubbing—this is visible in the video. Final Thoughts: The Nelko Tattoo Transfer Paper offers solid value for the price. When used correctly, it produces clean, crisp, and detailed stencils. I’d recommend it for both professional and amateur tattoo artists—or even as a fun way to create temporary tattoos at home.

Works great though a little pricey

Great transfer paper that I used with my thermal printer. Produced clean, crisp and exact designs. Worked out perfectly for the couple of small tattoos we did, and left a nice dark image on the skin. It's easy to use especially if you've used transfer paper before. It's even simple to just draw on it yourself to create a hand-drawn tattoo transfer. The size is just around normal paper size. I think they call that letter size. It fits in my tattoo thermal printer anyhow. It has a nice weight to it and feels like a really good quality. The price is pretty hefty for the amount that you get. I would order this again, but I would probably look for something that is a little more affordable first.

Works Fine, But the Contact Layer Is Quite Thin

The Nelko Tattoo Transfer Paper works decently for transferring designs, but it’s not without a few quirks. The transfer quality is good overall, and it gets the job done for both personal and professional use. However, the top contact layer is very thin, which caused it to burn a bit darker than expected during use. It’s still usable and produces clear stencils once you get a feel for the paper, but it might take a little practice to avoid overburning or heavy lines. For the price, it’s a solid option—just be aware that the paper is a bit more delicate than some premium brands.
