  • WOW! This gun is awesome
Size: 1.0mm nozzle, Mini
This spray gun is absolutely worth every penny. I’ve previously used a Harbor Freight equivalent, but there’s just no comparison. It feels like a glove in your hand, making it incredibly comfortable to use, and it sprays effortlessly. The results speak for themselves—my project, especially the badges, came out flawless. I’m so impressed with its performance that I’ll be ordering another one soon! ... show more

  • Excellent performance - can't remove nozzle
Size: 1.7mm nozzle
I bought this for three reasons, positives reviews about the quality of finish, the low CFM requirements, and price. Overall, I am pleased with the Neiko 31215A's performance on all three. My primary application is for woodworking. In the past I had problems applying conversion varnish, a notoriously difficult finish to work with. I usually got orange peels finishes that need to be buffed out. The Neiko's finish was quite good. Maybe not perfect, but very close with no need for buffing. I also used it with spar varnish without dilution. I think the 1.7mm nozzle was too small for the thicker spar varnish and that finish was not quite as good. Looks like I will need to thin or buy a Neiko with a larger nozzle for the urethane finishes. Too bad Neiko doesn't have interchangeable nozzles. Rating on finish quality 4.5 stars. The seller's claim that you only need 4.5 cfm is only a slight exaggeration. I used this on two compressors. One was rated at 4.5 cfm at 100psi. The other was rated at 6 cfm at 90 psi. The compressors ran continuously when spraying. But they seemed to keep up well enough. They would continue to run for some time when spraying stopped. I used a 5 gal portable tank in conjunction with the units' 5 gal tank for a total of 10 gals storage. I think with only 5 cfm @ 90 psi and 5 gal capacity the compressor might not be enough. But it performed MUCH better than other HVLP sprayers I have used. Rating on CFM requirements 5 stars. Like others, I was unable to remove the nozzle for cleaning. I tried soaking in xylene and again after use and cleaning. But the nozzle wouldn't budge. I was really worried I would damage the tool if I added more torque. It would be nice to be able to remove the nozzle. But I was able to adequately clean the sprayer with nozzle in place. I removed all other parts and shot a little cleaner through the gun from the inlet and needle holes. At next use everything worked fine. Overall fit and finish is clearly not as nice as a much pricier sprayer I have. But it is still fairly good. The air cap machining was OK, not great. The nozzle, needle and gun itself were fine, but not impressive. Some reviews complained about the aluminum cup being flimsy. I found the cup to be fine, but not robust. It didn't flex when putting on the top, but it probably wouldn't stand up to really heavy pressure. If you accidentally drop the sprayer, the cup would probably bend on the mount and would certainly dent. Under normal use it held up perfectly well. At under $40 the Neiko is an excellent value. That value is lowered by having to buy multiple sprayers to get flexibility in nozzle size. But still, a great purchase. Price rating 5 stars for value and gun quality. ... show more

  • It Works Fine if You get The Paint Thinned Properly
Size: 1.7mm nozzle
It did the job. I hooked it up to my compressor and practiced with water to get the hang of it. I then tried a thick exterior latex. I thinned it using the paint manufacturer's guide and it was still too thick. I kept thinning until it worked with the sprayer. The final job of painting three large wood patio chairs/rockers went well. I mixed up 1200ml or 40 ounces of paint in a container. To this I added 7 1/2 ounces of thinning agent. I say thinning agent because I mostly used windshield washer fluid, a small amount of filtered water and a small amount of Floetrol for Latex. I found on-line references for the use of windshield washer fluid instead of water due to its ethylene glycol content. This ingredient is supposedly used by paint manufacturers as a paint base and by using the WW fluid the final mix is supposedly better than using water alone. The inference here is that you need to thin paint beyond the manufacturer's recommendation. I would not think you would want WW fluid with Rain-ex or other additives. I used the cheapest blue stuff I could find. The paint I used indicated it was not suitable for spraying except by electric airless sprayers and then only by experienced users. I have used airless sprayers before and have not had good luck as they almost always ended up splattering the project. This Neiko spray gun put out a nice fog and no splatter. The whole process was easier than trying to get a brush into the nooks and crannies of these slatted chairs. I won't know if the thinned latex will hold up as long as a thicker brushed coat but I was happy with the look. I may end up brushing the top surfaces that get direct sun and rain to add an extra layer of protection. I would recommend thinning your paint in a separate container in stages. If the first mixture won't make it through the sprayer you can then pour the mixture back into that container from the gun and add more thinner. I used a 2 1/2 oz medicine cup and ended up adding 3 full measures to my 40 oz of paint. This was more than enough to finish the three chairs as the Neiko gun seems to be very efficient in its paint delivery. Clean up was simple with the latex paint and I just used water to rinse off the exterior and to flush through the sprayer. I disassembled the main components and sprayed the outside with a silicone spray. ... show more

  • Reliable and Adjustable Spray Gun - Perfect for Warm Weather
Size: 1.0mm nozzle, Mini
The NEIKO Mini Gravity Feed Air Spray Paint Gun worked exactly as expected. It’s an excellent tool for various painting projects, delivering smooth and even coats. The 1.0 mm nozzle size is ideal for precision work, and the 125 cc capacity is just right for small to medium tasks. One thing to note is that it struggles a bit in cold weather. However, in warmer conditions, it performs flawlessly. The adjustability of the spray pattern and flow is a standout feature, allowing for great control and customization depending on the project’s needs. Overall, this spray gun is a fantastic buy. It’s reliable, easy to use, and offers great value for the price. Highly recommended for anyone needing a quality spray gun for detailed work. ... show more
