abunda_amazon_reviews I just wanted to clarify for those who are wondering if you need to buy extra pieces to use this boom pole as suggested by another reviewer. Mine came yesterday with the a 3/8" male end hard fastened to the pole and an adapter to 1/4". You can see my mic is screwed on the 3/8" connection. The pole feels very solid and is quite long. I think 8' and collapses down to about 3'. I do teach filmmaking to kids so time will tell how it will hold up. I knew that I would likely only be shooting with a boom 2-3 times a year, so I didn't want to pay hundreds for a boom pole, but I also didn't want something flimsy or noisy. I didn't think I'd find anything that met my needs under $100, and I was skeptical about this one when I saw it was under $50. Honestly, the only reason I bought it was because I've been extremely happy with other Neewer products I've purchased (especially my dual dimmable/full color spectrum LED light kit, which is INCREDIBLE for the cost). My expectations were exceeded as soon as I took the pole out of the box. It's definitely "all there", much more metal than plastic, and it didn't feel like a toy. While it was solid, it wasn't "heavy", and really well weight-balanced. The extension locks are high-quality, and it includes three nice velcro straps for locking down your XLR cable. There are upper and lower padded hand grips that, while not incredibly comfortable, I don't see being an issue after a couple hours of use. I only have a few hours of time with this pole (mostly shooting field recordings), but I've experienced no unwanted noises caused by the pole, and it has worked well in a number of indoor and outdoor environments, from fully closed down to full extension.
