  • Super Bright
Style: 130W
You will only get the white light. No other light option. It’s good though.

  • Great video light! Would buy again
Style: 130W
Photo is at about 50% power with my video light on the subject and my colleague’s behind them. Room was lit with only LED string lights in November at night. So as you can see, this light perform marvelously. One of my favorite features about this light is the phone app. My friend needed to bring his light up and down on his light stand every time he needed to make an adjustment during set up while I could leave my light positioned and adjust the brightness from my phone. I’d also recommend getting the dual batteries available for it and the battery harness so you don’t need to plug in. ... show more

  • First unit was junk, but great customer service providing new unit
Style: 130W
Okay, update here. I only used it once, on low power, and after that first use it kept turning itself off and now getting error code 02 after only 20 seconds of so. Basically, the unit was giving me an overheating error, even though it had only been on for a very short time. I reached out to Newer and they are making it right, sending me a new unit, as apparently the unit I received had some sort of glitch or malfunction. Their customer service was right on top of it, and i appreciate that. i look forward to using the new light... ... show more

  • Only one color
Style: 65W
Yeah, this one is on me. In the world of bi-color COB lights, I just assumed that this one would be able to do a gamut of whites. It can't It's only 5600k. Which isn't the worst thing in the world, and it's a way better option that if it was locked at like 2400K. This thing is small and lightweight. It has a surprisingly robust light stand mount. I was a bit worried at first on how the mount would work with holding a pretty big diffuser, but it works just fine. I'm only going to be using this for a fill light or maybe a hair light, but if you are working on a budget, this could probably do as a key. My particular use for this is in a small room with a black wall where we shoot talking heads, and for a fill, I'm only using it at 2% power. I'm assuming that if you had good enough diffusers or reflectors you could use this in a much brighter and bigger space. It's got two knobs that turn and push in to control, so easy enough to control. It has some fancy options for lighting that I'll never use or explore. I don't need it to emulate lighting for interview style videos. If you only need 5600k, spend the money. If you want some more versatility, I'd suggest that you keep looking and buy something that does bicolor stuff. I kind of wish that I would've spent some more money and went a different direction, but once I figured out that it only has one color I pivoted and made it work. For what it is, it's not a bad light for the money. ... show more

  • Overheats and shuts off at more than 70% brightness
Style: 130W
Good: The light is very bright, even at only 50 or 60% brightness. The color quality (CRI) is excellent; beautiful illumination. The device itself looks nice and the control interface is easy to use. The power brick has a very long cable. Bad: As other reviews stated, the fans are very quiet - this is because they are too weak! The light cannot run at max brightness for more than a few minutes or it will overheat and shut off. I can only reliably use it at about 60%-70% brightness or it will shut down. This is still plenty bright for me. Also, the device emits a constant, high pitched whine when turned on (cheap electrical components?). This does not bother me at all, but it might annoy you. Overall: Overall I recommend this, despite the drawbacks, but the manufacturers should not use such cheap fans. ... show more
