I'm a long time fan of Neewer gear, based in the fact they deliver quality products at fantastic prices. My opinion of Neewer as a value leader has not changed after reviewing this slider. Despite the Neewer app having a very low rating on the Play Store, I nonetheless had no problems getting it to connect or to work or do what I wanted it to do. There are some revisions I would love to see implemented, such as having 2 time scale sliders (short duration 0-5 min, long duration 5 min - 1 hour) for the "manual mode", and the UI is a bit rough and not super-intuitive, but it's workable, and I certainly was able to get it to do what I wanted it to do with a little effort. Has for the slider itself, pure gold. The build quality is fantastic. The legs are easily adjustable for uneven surfaces, and lock securely into position. Belt tension is easy to adjust, as is the panning rod (the part underneath that controls the left to right pan). It should be noted that this is a single axis slider, as the pivot is controlled by said rod and not a stepper motor like the actual slider itself. If you want something motorized on 2 axis, be prepared to spend at least 2x as much. The capacity of this slider is AMAZING, with 11lbs set level and 5.5lbs at a 45 degree angle. To give you an idea of just how much weight 5.5lb is, my Canon 80D with my Canon EF-S 70-200 f2.8-IS II is 5.1lbs. That's NOT a featherweight DSLR, and the 70-200 is a monster. This slider can handle the 80D and 70-200 on a 45-degree angle. That's pretty impressive, you mirrorless / MFT folks should have a blast with this. I love that it's powered by a Sony NP-F battery, and also that it includes said battery. Most photographers, myself included, have a bag of NP-F batteries somewhere, even if we don't shoot Sony, so many things are NP-F powered, so I love to see that as a power choice and not some proprietary battery. I'm also pleased to report that the app reports the slider battery percentage on your phone, which is a nice feature. It pans very smoothly, is extremely adjustable, and supports numerous modes including video, time lapse, and plain old manual mode. This slider is just brilliant, and I had not a single issue with it. If you're looking to seriously up your game by getting a slider, this is a fantastic option for the money. Highly recommended, 5 stars.

I have the previous version of this Neewer Slider and have loved it for years. When I saw this new model come out I jumped at grabbing one and I'm not disappointed. The app is great, super easy to setup and connect to the slider. I've used it with my android phone and both an iPad and my Android tablet and its consistent, connects easily and functions well on all of them. This can typically be an issue with devices like this but Neewer did it right and it works great. The pan and turn gearing is smooth as butter and competes pretty solidly with some of the more expensive sliders I've used. As an exclusive contributor to a prominent stock media agency with 25 years of experience in freelance photography and videography, I offer informed and professional opinions of camera and video equipment. I will update this review if anything changes within 1 year. A 5-star rating indicates the product meets my expectations for its purpose.

Wicked easy to connect and setup. I actually needed to disconnect it from my Pixel 8 Pro and connect it to my iPhone 8, and I was able to within seconds. (I needed to because the Pixel 8 Pro is my main and the iPhone 8 is my app controller for certain stuff. But the Android and IOS apps both work well.) It is very adjustable. slides smoothly, and the motor is strong enough for me to position it in all different angles. I have not made any custom actions yet in the app. One thing I wish was a bit better, is the amount of degrees the camera can rotate when you adjust the middle bar. I'm going to be using it a lot, so I'll update if something happens. I've already used it for a few product videos and it's doing well.
