  • Wow!
Style: DL400
I wasn't sure about this but decided what the heck and soooo glad I did. This is heavy, large and fantastic! It's powerful, too. I am a sole creator and needed something to add dynamic moves to my videos and wanted something I could also use on myself. This did not disappoint. I even had an insta360 invisible stick attached to gain height with a Hohem M6 and iphone 13 max pro attached and this thing remained balanced, steady and did not hesitate. Worth every penny. • Needs Improvement
Style: DL400
Update: today I found out that unless the ground that this is on is completely flat it will vibrate your footage a lot. To the point where stabilization cannot correct it fully. Unless you are looking to use this on a completely flat surface I wouldn't recommend this. Update: okay so now that I've used it and I've seen the capability that it offers even though it is jittery which definitely sucks but hopefully editing programs can stabilize it because the footage that you're able to get you just wouldn't be able to get without it. So I have to admit even with his flaws it is definitely a fun tool to have in your Arsenal. That said I still stand behind what I stated in my first impressions of this review as well. Definitely room for improvement and not the best design. I will also add that it is difficult to get it to go completely straight at level 5 considering it's jittery movement seems to move to the left or right even at 0 First impressions: First off the only way to charge it and see it charging. Is to turn it on and hook it up to your phone app so that has a charging indicator. There is not one on the unit. There is nothing in the directions anywhere about charging it but it does tell you to make sure to charge it before use. Another part I really like is that it says do not put in the Sun There is no point A to point B on the unit or available in the app Then to make the app even worse there are limitations. It forces you to use 12 seconds minimum and a distance of 66 at least Honestly for $190 this has a really bad design Then you get to the footage you're able to get. Even at speed level 1 on a flat surface it shakes but level five it really shakes even on a flat surface Comes with the cheapest flimsy phone holder possible I wish I would have bought a later design that didn't have the bugs. It's unfortunate ... show more

  • Silent and smooth as butter
Style: DL400
I’ve had several camera sliders and this is by far my favorite. It uses standard production batteries (included) which I love. The app works great. Super silent and very smooth.

  • I Can’t Stop “Playing” with this Dolly!
Style: DL400
I am a camera gear nut job. I love to try everything in photography and videography. I have wanted a dolly for a long time and now that I have one, I can’t stop “playing” with it! This dolly is made super well. The metal is machined perfectly and the finish is awesome. It comes with a battery and it’s an NP-F battery, so it’s not proprietary. There is a gauge marked on the body of the dolly to get your angle. I really didn’t use the gauge much yet, as I’ve been testing it on areas that are not perfectly smooth. Everything fits nicely into a hard shell case that comes with the dolly. You also get a phone holder and a mini ball head. The controls are easy to use (I’m not an app person so I focused on the manual controls). You go either forward or backward and there are 5 speeds. The buttons are very responsive. The motor is barely audible. So, here’s why I’m really sold on the motorized dolly. You can get so many shots that you can’t get if you are hand holding a camera. First, you are able to get shots from under something (like a table). Set the camera and let the dolly run under the object. Second, you can set the dolly to angle around you creating the illusion of a second camera person being with you. I was able to connect my gimbal to the dolly and since it has AI to find me, both the dolly and the camera were moving and creating a really cool shot of me (and looking like I actually have a camera “crew”). For note, when I used the gimbal, I used an action camera so I wouldn’t be overweight for the dolly. The dolly can handle up to 6.6 pounds, which is impressive. You can use a DSLR camera with the dolly. For the DSLR, I used another ball mount I had to get the camera up above the dolly more than the included ball head could do. For note, if your surfaces are not totally smooth, you will probably want your camera stabilization to be on. The dolly does not appear to have stabilization. Other shots I did involved making a ramp out of a board and letting the dolly go up or down it. You won’t want the ramp terribly high, but it does work well and depending on whether you angle the camera facing in the same direction, sideways, or the opposite direction, you get different perspectives. I was impressed with the dolly motor’s ability to scale the board without a problem. This led me to taking the dolly into the woods with me. I will mention that carrying the dolly adds weight to your backpack. The dolly is heavier than I thought it would be, but to me this makes it more stable. I did try the dolly on rough terrain. It doesn’t work well due to the low wheel base, but I found a work around. Using an old thin yoga mat with a little texture across rougher terrain, you can get the dolly to perform well. The motor of the dolly was plenty strong enough to take grip to the yoga mat when spread across small pebbles. You will get “bouncy” shots and I would advise using an action camera with really good stabilization or a way to “lock” your subject. This brings me to my “wish” list items. Given the price point, the dolly is well worth what you get especially since it comes with a battery. However, I would like to see “accessories” like larger tires to clear rougher terrain and a suspension system if possible. It would be nice to use this on dirt paths or crushed stone walkways. Overall, I’m having probably way too much fun with this dolly and pushing it to its limits. I would definitely recommend it. ... show more

  • Neewer's Motorized Slider: A Buttery Smooth Cinematic Journey
Style: DL400
As a filmmaker constantly seeking innovative ways to elevate my craft, the moment I laid eyes on Neewer's DL400 Motorized Camera Slider, I knew I was in for a treat. This ingenious device has become an indispensable companion, injecting my shots with a level of dynamism that leaves audiences spellbound. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by its sturdy construction and sleek design. Setting it up was a breeze, thanks to the intuitive app control that allowed me to effortlessly program intricate camera movements. The dual motor drive delivers an ultra-quiet performance, ensuring my audio remains pristine even during the most complex shots. And let's not forget the remarkable 5-hour runtime, which has saved me from countless mid-shoot battery swaps. While the price tag might raise an eyebrow or two, the investment is well worth it for the cinematic prowess it brings to the table. The only downside I've encountered is the occasional hiccup with the app connectivity, but a quick reset usually resolves the issue. All in all, Neewer's DL400 has proven to be a game-changer, allowing me to capture buttery smooth, jaw-dropping shots that leave my audience craving for more. ... show more
