I purchased this set to Photograph my art. I am an acrylic painter. These lights are able to knock down the shadows and I get an excellent picture with all the detail. I have to use them at 50% for small work. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering them. They are easy to assemble and have a nice storage bag. My favorite part is the wifi to my phone.     • Big, bright and a GREAT deal for a two pack.
I have already bought one of these panels for $199 and really liked it, so when I saw this two pack for $338 I jumped at it to get a couple more of these great lights. Basically you're getting a second light AND a pair of light stands for just $138 more, a huge deal. The light stands are decent quality ones too, they are not the air cushion types but do have springs to prevent impacts if you loosen the locking knobs too quick. They are also much more sturdy than light stands I have gotten in other cheap bundles, the tubes are strong enough so they don't get all bendy when at max height with these lights on them. You still might want to sandbag them for extra protection against knock over though. The case you get is compact but neatly holds everything thanks to a regular jigsaw puzzle of foam pieces so nothing rubs against anything else. These are big LED panels at 18.3 inches across, for the size they are very lightweight and fairly thin. Everything fits in one case including both lights, the AC power supply and light stands. The light can also be powered by a pair of NP-F batteries (not included) for mobile use. This is color temperature adjustable from 2500-8500k which is a very big range. The RGB colors are also quite strong, nearly as bright as when the light is just white. And of course there are the usual "special effects" like flickering bulb, lightning and police car. The whole thing runs cool, no fans and no noise. And man is this thing bright, it totally fills up a room with light when you crank it up! The light you get is soft and flattering. It spreads out nearly 180 degrees so the whole area in front of the light is covered very evenly. Also because the light is so large and well diffused, it's not blinding if you look right at it. It's equivalent to looking at a COB light with a softbox on the front. Bright but not blinding because of that 18.5 inch panel. The only thing I'd really like to see that is some barn doors to help control the spread of the light. As it is the light floods out nearly 180 degrees. Good for many uses but sometimes you need more control. The back of the light has a threaded hole in each corner, possibly for attaching accessories like this, but so far I haven't seen any accessories from Neewer. If you're streaming a big light like this would work great as your main light, it easily puts out enough light to cover several people. Or you could use it just to fill up the room behind you with some nice colored light. Since the light gives a nice even spread it would also be good for lighting up a green screen nice and evenly. The light has a good on-board user interface that (for a change) is not confusing. There is a large display panel that clearly shows all the settings. A dial can adjust any of them and there are buttons next to each setting on the display you can just press to select which one the dial controls. You can also click the dial to speed up the adjustments so they go 1% at a time or 10% so it's quick to dial in the setting you want. There is bluetooth connectivity for app control on android or iOS (I have iOS) and the app itself is pretty decent. Allows you to control multiple Neewer lights from one app individually or in groups. Pairs with the light quickly, no fuss. Though you do have to create an account which I wish app vendors would STOP doing. I have over a dozen light control apps on my phone now and keeping track of all the accounts is getting pretty annoying! I honestly wish all the people selling lights would standardize on one control app instead of everyone having their own! For what you are getting here this is really a great deal and I can happily recommend it, if you are limited to what you can buy getting two 18.5 inch panels and stands will get you the nice soft light to make videos look good without breaking the bank. Also you won't need to carry around a softbox like you would need for a COB or bulb studio light. ... show more

    • Bright, soft and cheap. Just like me!
You want a skypanel? Be rich! You want something pretty comparable and 1/60th the price? Get this! Obv it's not as crazy bright, rock solid or feature packed as a skypanel but man for $1-200 (depending if on sale) these lights are amazing. WAY brighter than the cheapy 1x1s that every company craps out, at least 2x more bright but probably more. The new Neewer app is pretty tight and everything connects instantly so you can control at the touch of a screen. Out of the box they are nice and soft so you don't need to mess around with diff sheets or clunky pop-up frames. It has screw holes on the back which I hope will someday take barn doors. Neewer, make barn doors for this! The stand mounts are pretty beefy and crank down nice and tight no matter what angle you tweak them to. A big improvement over past Neewer stand mounting brackets. Even if they break, they click off with a button push so you could get a replacement. These are a steal at twice the price. Get you one for ̶m̶y̶ your stupid cat makeup tutorials! ... show more

    • A good value pack for a great light
The media could not be loaded. I put a video about this set of two lights + stands on the front end of my longer video about using one of the lights on its own. (I got this set after trying out a single light.) What I forgot in my shorter video is that the case packs them in really securely. But I don't plan to use it unless I need to travel with them, because it's slightly cumbersome to get them out. I've found it's easier for me to put them in a mesh bag on my photography shelves, with the stands strapped on the floor next to my shelves with the rest of my light stands and tripods. Here's my 5-star review for the single light: Probably not for rough use, but really fantastic for prosumers There aren't barn doors to control the light angle (at least not available yet), and I wouldn't throw this light panel around, but this light gives an amazingly soft-but-still-bright spread of photons for photo and video work. It's light, portable, versatile, and very easy to use with advanced or just quick adjustments in the app. This is a wonderful addition to Neewer's lineup.
