  • Great tent at a great value
Size: 3 Person
I've now used this tent for several weeks worth of backpacking. It is completely fantastic. It's easy to set up and take down, very roomy, and, particularly for it's size, very lightweight. It has features like vents in the fly and pockets sewn into the mesh. The vestibule is adequate for gear storage and has enough room should you need to cook under it. My first outing with it was a 7 day backpacking trip where it rained heavily at least once a day and often with really strong wind gusts. This tent was unaffected by both the rain and wind. I own an MSR Hubba and a Big Agnes Copper Spur 2 and they are both fantastic tents. This tent is only slightly heavier and has incredible space- a trade off that I found to be quite acceptable. This is my go-to backpacking and car camping tent, and it's basically half the price I paid for my other tents. ... show more

  • Excellent tent!
Size: 2 Person
I've used this tent on two recent camping trips now. First was motorcycle camping, the second for car camping. This is an excellent tent. It kept me nice a dry on both excursions, it packs small, and is lightweight. Very easy to assemble, black-to-black, red-to-red. If you still can't figure it out, there's a YouTube video on it. Two pockets inside for your small stuff, and a hook on the center roof for hanging a flashlight. Two doors, taped seams, and large vestibules created by the rain fly on both side. Just an excellent, excellent tent. Make sure you get the ground sheet that goes with it and remember 2 man really means one man in terms of tents. ... show more

  • Great Tent for the Intermediate Backpacker
Size: 2 Person
I have been backpacking for most of my life. I am 36 years old and I know that in some instances paying for quality is definitely worth it, but in today's world finding lightweight quality tents is so expensive. Tents these days from the big brands and from the cottage vendors can easily be $400-$700 and to me, that is just way too much money for a tent. I believe if you take care of your gear, it will take care of you. I found this tent on Amazon and after reading reviews, decided to pull the trigger and I have been very happy with my purchase. I have taken this tent out on 5 trips now and it has done a fabulous job. It's lightweight and easy to set up. I live in Northern California and the picture above is of a winter camping trip I did at Bassi Falls. I do agree with some of the other reviews that even though this says it's a two-person tent, you will be right on top of each other, however, when backpacking, this is kind of expected and I use it for my solo tent and it's great because then it offers a ton of space for me and I have even taken my dog and we both have fit in here nicely. I would say if you are new to backpacking, maybe try a more entry-level tent(cheaper price range) (make sure you enjoy backpacking first), I think this is a great tent for someone who is past the beginner stage on backpacking but is not at the point where they want to dish out $500+ for gear yet. ... show more

  • Rain Fly doesn't fit properly
Size: 2 Person
Ill ad photos later, but the seams dont line up with the poles. Expecially at the door where the small bar on the feet side of the tent are not in the squar meshing as they should be. Seems to be pushing against the tent itself on one side and fine in the proper position on the other. Want to know if I can return just the rain fly? Love the tent, but this doesnt rest where it should, expected more, especially at full price. Will update if there is a resolution (Assumingly so). Edit: Made the return and swapped it out for another with haist from the company. Rainfly seems to have the same issue, but it is an amazing tent overall, hasn't given me any problems so far and keeps me suprisingly warm (10 to 20 degree) difference inside and light weight. Would recommend if you are looking for something reliable, easy to set up amd take down, and durable, with the light weight. No issues with any rain on many camping or backpacking trips in the rain. ... show more

  • Light and Roomy
Size: 2 Person
I went backpacking with my dog Lily and this tent served us well. She is a 70lb black lab and I am 5'9" (69cm) and 205lbs (93kg). It hailed and snowed through the evening and night, so this was our home for multiple hours. The vestibules stored our gear without issues and Lily had multiple places curl up inside. (For anyone wondering, the vest she's wearing is actually for humans, found at a thrift store. It also worked well) ... show more

  • Great lightweight tent at great price
Size: 2 Person
Great tent for the price. The weight is similar to much more expensive tents. The size is great for two people. I used it with my 9 year old son but my 6'1" partner and I would fit in it fine. We didn't use the fly or the stakes so I can't comment on those, but we did use the footprint. The only drawback was the red side of the footprint did not stay on without staking it. ... show more

  • Looked great on paper but disappointed with actual product
Size: 3 Person
I have spent several weeks now looking for a suitable replacement for my 1999 Kelty Vortex 3 tent. It has been a flawlessly reliable tent for the last 24 years and been on countless trips to the BWCA and many trips Canada and other places. However its age has caught up with it. I had hoped that modern tech had created a new breed of great options but not the case. Even Kelty's new 3P tents are small cheap and cut too many corners IMO. This tent looked great on paper. Lots of pockets, significant ventilation, sq. footage, large vestibules and a great color scheme. When the tent arrived my first impression was that the stuff sack was very thin and the handle would tear out of it in no time. Also, the draw string was cheap. After setting up the tent, I found the floor of the tent laughably thin and the rain fly as well. The zippers were 1/2 the size of my Kelty and other modern tents I have recently tried. I don't see them holding up for long. The tent steaks are 1/2 the length of a normal stake. I understand that this is marketed as an "ultralight" tent but for $360 it reminds me of my daughters princess play tent. Might be fine for casual use but not if your depending on it as your home in the back country. I ended up going with the Marmot Crain Creek 3P. ... show more

  • Insanely good tent
Size: 2 Person
Had a few camping trips with this tent and I can say this: it’s insanely good. Setup process is easy, a lot of space inside, overall quality is just awesome. Much better than different Chinese “brands” and much cheaper than MSR/Nemo.
