  • DON’T GET THE BOTTOM WET!!
Bought mine 2 years ago. Worked very well. Loved it. Quit working last week. Figured it needed batteries so I opened the battery compartment to change batteries. Everything was wet and corroded in there. Cleaned it all up and put new batteries in. Still no go. Ordered a new one today. There should be a rubber O ring or something in there to seal the battery compartment cause it’s going to get wet. ... show more

  • Why did i wait so long
I was reluctant to try this, as its expensive, once I got past the first try, i liked it. I couldn't imagine having water pumped through my sinus, how ever once you take the plunge I'm very happy I bought this. I have chronic sinus problems, stuffiness nasal congestion. I find it's best to use at least twice a day. I'm amazed on how much mucus and snot you wash out with each use. It feels good to rinse the sinus. I last longer with out nasal sprays after i use it. It will not work with out a salt pod in it , so you cannot dry run it. Pod has to be in place for it to engage. If you try it with out the pod you will think it doesn't work or stopped working. It's set up to work with their pod in it. That's fine with me. I rinsed it out, tried it for a couple days, before I ordered more salt pods, I just did one rinse tonight I'll do another in a while. Works great cleaning out sinuses. Salt pods work, feel just fine. I found it also helps you get over a cold quicker, flushing the mucus out. Mine usually lingers, Not this time. Rinsing with Navage helped greatly. I now enjoy the rinse. I have a deviated septum. I read people saying it will not work with the Deviated Septum.. so that means for me my nasal passage is smaller on my left side. So I physically adjust the nozzels while I'm holding it in action, if its going slow, it means the passage is not straight, I wiggle it and or align it while in progress of rinsing. so for me it works fine with my deviated septum. If you have a clogged sinus, clear it first with meds or spray, Once you reduced sinus swelling, the unit works better it needs a clear passage. I will continue to use it twice a day it gives me relief. It's easier to take care of your sinuses using this machine in my opinion. I am not a Dr or medical person. I'm just a customer. yes it feel good to wash the snot out and see what is floating in the tank, you'll be surprised what you wash out regularly. Try it out it may help you. If not you can always return it under 30 days I believe. Also I read here it takes one cup of water, that is correct. I fill a measuring cup to the line one cup, then I let it sit on the counter to warm up and I microwave the water for 11 seconds, so its not cold in the sinus. I wish I would have bough this sooner, sure does help flushing the sinuses. Once you use it a couple times you'll find it very easy to use and clean. I use filtered water that takes the Chlorine and chemicals out of the tap water. ... show more

  • The Booger Sucker
Came super fast. I like that it works good and there is less mess on your face. What I don’t like is the time it takes to put together and take apart to clean. I feel like I have more of a mess all over. The product is bulky to leave on the bathroom counter. I use to use the bottle one and It took me a total of 5 minutes and that is with clean up and putting it away. This is almost like a 12-15 minute process. You have to put it together and when you snap it on it seems like it will break easily. Use it. Take it apart and clean. First off, the chamber that puts all the boogers in, is NOT for the faint of heart. It’s straight up disgusting! Next, when you take it apart there is some left over water that comes out and gets all over the counters. Lastly, cleaning it all up you have to be careful not to get the batteries wet and it can’t be submerged. Makes me wonder how clean does it really get? Over all it works and that is what matters most. Just plan on spending more time doing it! Would I recommend it? I probably would. ... show more

  • Time consuming, inconvenient clean up. Not friendly to wallet or environment.
READ BETWEEN THE LINES: "operates exclusively with genuine Naväge SaltPod capsules to provide a soothing, refreshing, perfectly-balanced saline rinse every time. Our patented system eliminates the measuring and the mess." This does NOT let the buyer know that the machine will ONLY work if you purchase the pods. However, once you receive the unit you see that information is prominently featured via a sticker on that machine that reads "No Salt Pod, No Power!" SURPRISE! If you do not want to purchase the expensive & bulky salt pods, this machine will not work. If you want to make your own salt water, this machine will not work. If you open the lid where the pod it, the machine will stop working & the only way to get it to work is by inserting a new pod. That also means you can not run a cleaning cycle on this machine. You can't run soap & water through it. You can't run vinegar & water through it. AVAILABILITY: The Pods are not available at your local drug store. Sometimes they are available via PRIME and sometimes, not. COST & THE ENVIRONMENT: Per Navage USA Customer Support, when purchased in quantity discounts, one-a-day costs about $2.31/week, less than $10/month. However many people with allergies & chronic sinusitis rinse 2-3 times/day! I see on this site Navage offers 90 salt pods for approx. $40 and 30 salt pods for $15. Do that math on what that's going to cost you for regular year-round use if you have allergies & chronic sinusitis. AND... you've gotta store these things. And they're more plastic for recycling - NOT environmentally friendly. Given that these pods come out of a factory - you should be wiping them down with an alcohol pad before you insert them so you're not snorting who-knows-what. YOUR WATER: You've got to use distilled or boiled water. Fine. But it should be warm. So now you have to heat it up in a different container. If you are using this machine to help with sinus infections, you've got to mix in your liquid steroid and prescription medication in that different container then transfer all to the Navage. And clean up/sterilize your first container. Once you close the lid and break the salt pod, you have to mix BUT you have to be super careful because water/solution leaks out the top front of the unit when you swirl. The tank on top of Navage that holds your rinse solution is not a closed container so you can't heat the water in the container & you can't mix your solution in the container. CLEAN UP: You can't run a cleaning cycle. The top green tank, it's awkward, you can rinse it or submerge it in a sink of hot soapy water or vinegar water. You can't put cleaning solution in there and shake it around because of the 2 openings. Not a fan of the super small end/narrow end of the tank. The bottom tank you can put cleaning solution on & put your hand over the 1 opening & shake & rinse. However, I haven't managed to get that tank off the unit without getting that dirty sinus water all over. It's awkward. Also the battery is on top of this tank. Read the reviews, if you get the battery compartment wet, you're done for. The lid at the very top of the machine has to be rinsed before and after use because the pods can cause a salt build up - this doesn't happen with salt packets or when you make your own salt water. You're not supposed to get the main, white body wet, but how do you get the salt solution off of it? How do you get your medicated solution off of it? Both nasal pillows have to come off for cleaning after each use as does the little nasal port and when you take that off... water comes out of the machine. Great idea, very poorly executed. Clean up is IMO, a nightmare especially since I rinse more than once a day, every day. It takes more time to prep & clean this machine than it's worth. And, you don't build brand loyalty by locking consumers into buying salt pods or the machine won't work. Right? ... show more
