  • Why did i wait so long
I was reluctant to try this, as its expensive, once I got past the first try, i liked it. I couldn't imagine having water pumped through my sinus, how ever once you take the plunge I'm very happy I bought this. I have chronic sinus problems, stuffiness nasal congestion. I find it's best to use at least twice a day. I'm amazed on how much mucus and snot you wash out with each use. It feels good to rinse the sinus. I last longer with out nasal sprays after i use it. It will not work with out a salt pod in it , so you cannot dry run it. Pod has to be in place for it to engage. If you try it with out the pod you will think it doesn't work or stopped working. It's set up to work with their pod in it. That's fine with me. I rinsed it out, tried it for a couple days, before I ordered more salt pods, I just did one rinse tonight I'll do another in a while. Works great cleaning out sinuses. Salt pods work, feel just fine. I found it also helps you get over a cold quicker, flushing the mucus out. Mine usually lingers, Not this time. Rinsing with Navage helped greatly. I now enjoy the rinse. I have a deviated septum. I read people saying it will not work with the Deviated Septum.. so that means for me my nasal passage is smaller on my left side. So I physically adjust the nozzels while I'm holding it in action, if its going slow, it means the passage is not straight, I wiggle it and or align it while in progress of rinsing. so for me it works fine with my deviated septum. If you have a clogged sinus, clear it first with meds or spray, Once you reduced sinus swelling, the unit works better it needs a clear passage. I will continue to use it twice a day it gives me relief. It's easier to take care of your sinuses using this machine in my opinion. I am not a Dr or medical person. I'm just a customer. yes it feel good to wash the snot out and see what is floating in the tank, you'll be surprised what you wash out regularly. Try it out it may help you. If not you can always return it under 30 days I believe. Also I read here it takes one cup of water, that is correct. I fill a measuring cup to the line one cup, then I let it sit on the counter to warm up and I microwave the water for 11 seconds, so its not cold in the sinus. I wish I would have bough this sooner, sure does help flushing the sinuses. Once you use it a couple times you'll find it very easy to use and clean. I use filtered water that takes the Chlorine and chemicals out of the tap water. ... show more

  • ONE OF THE TOP INVENTIONS EVER!!!
You have to be kidding me!?! I don't write reviews typically. I have bought probably a 1,000 items on Amazon and left 5 reviews. Yes, I suck at praising. But I had to here! I was skeptical to buy as I didn't know exactly how it would help, or how I would like water in my nose. Googled what it does, why it does it, and how it works. Got it today so had to try it. Easy to setup and use. I haven't had sinus issues or headaches related, but just dry nose (sometimes nose bleeds) and issues sleeping (more to come). The first time was amazing! My nose felt fresh, clean, and I could breath through my nose with no issue. Googled a little more on how much you could use it in a day, and most said the first time you get it, do it multiple times. So of course getting my first elation, I had to do it again. Even better! I am breathing with no issues at all. Looking forward to see how the sleep goes. If you are on the fence? Don't be...JUMP! SO WORTH IT!!! ***Yeah, let me update this. 4 days and now it won't work. The button you have to press is stuck and off centered. Overall it does work, but I got a BAD ONE! ... show more

  • No question in my mind - a very helpful medical device
I've waited for a year to write this review because I wanted to see how it would affect my nose and hold up as a product over time. Reviews written soon after purchase simply don't have the history needed to decide it it's a good investment. Since this item is a bit pricey and changes your lifestyle it seemed fairer and more effective to give it some time before reviewing. The Navage rinses your nose with 8 ounces of saline at at time. The principle is clever - it pumps the saline in one nostril and sucks it out the other, making a complete circuit around your nasal septum (the barrier that divides one nasal passage from the other). By taking this approach you saline fills the passages and is removed without leaking or splashing all over the place. It's much, much less messy than a neti pot or the SinuPulse Elite Advanced Nasal Sinus Irrigation system. You can also take a look at the used saline to determine whether you're actually doing anything with the irrigation, which is psychologically helpful if nothing else. From a physical product perspective I would give it 4 stars. The one real problem that they could easily fix is that the battery compartment in the bottom of the machine doesn't have a rubber gasket. This means that if saline splashes or you set it down on a wet surface water or saline can leak into the battery compartment. I bet that this happened with my first machine which simply stopped working after three months. The company was very good about replacing it, but it wasted a lot of saline trying different batteries, rinsing to rule out salt build-up on the switches, etc. Otherwise the machine has been holding out well thus far. That's all very well, but how does it work? I believe that the Navage folks have hit upon really hit on something here. The biggest difference between the Navage and SinuPulse Elite is that Navage delivers a broad stream of saline at a relatively low velocity, while the SinuPlus does the opposite (and makes a mess in the process). The SinuPlus is like using a Waterpik on your nose - in fact that's essentially what it is. By using a broad stream of saline with a lower velocity, the Navage does a good job of rinsing the whole nasal passage every time you use it. Presumably it's washing away dust, pollen, and other allergens in the process, which should lead to less immune system reaction and swelling of the mucosa. Moreover, it seems to work in practice. Combined with using Breath Right nasal strips at night, I've been sleeping and breathing better than I have in years. My wife believes that I'm snoring much less than previously directly as a result of the Navage. I'm not in a position to confirm this, of course, but she's a pretty reliable witness. One thing that's useful to know is that it's definitely true that you may have to position the inflow and outflow very specifically. For reasons that I'd like to know, I can get saline flowing into one side of my nose but not the other. As a result I always have to position the inflow prong on the "good" side, and the outflow on the other side. Try it both ways and see if this is the case for you. Good luck! ... show more
