My old dog, nearly 16, is blind so he pees right beside (or on) the sidewalk. After awhile a horrible odor resulted, especially in the summer! We tried lime, and the enzyme stuff that is for indoors for dog pee but nothing works. Till this product. It lasts usually 3-5 days till I need to spray again. Occasionally it wears off in 1-2 days but it's Easy to reapply. I first bought the bottle with the sprayer & then when that ran out this refill. It screws on to waterhose easily & if done correctly it dont leak. It comes out like a soapy water and smells great. Story: I had two cats, and one passed away. I realized that my crazy remaining cat never was using the litter box. And my front yard/walkway smelled like one. So I had bought the big jug of this a while back because I thought it was strays, and a recently a hand sprayer that doesn’t require a bulky hose attachment. This product is great-smelling and natural. I wore gloves to be safe, because the concentration was recommended 50:1. Unfortunately, the bottle damaged easily, and my closet smelled like soap- but I had a big mess. I realized, though I had stored it upright and I likely caused the sprung leak (my closet is FULL), the cap also leaked when I tried to store it on its side. So two messes. Then, I found that the recommended concentration is some big secret, so I had to guess. 50 to 1 is recommended for the non-citronella variety. I think. That’s 6 1/4 Cups to 1/8 Cup. Anyway, the cat urine smell on my front bed has dissipated and I expect reapplication to be necessary. ... show more

The far end of my back yard used to smell like a dog pound because, well, we have a dog and that's the side the dog run is on. But this stuff is amazing! It goes on like a foam, smells fresh like natural cut lemon grass/citronella, and neutralizes that dog pee or cat poo odor instantly not only for human enjoyment but ... IT ALSO KNOCKS IT OUT SO THE DOG DOESN'T GO MARK OVER IT !! This was the problem. One dog would pee against the side of a tree on the way down to the dog run, then every other dog has to too and so on and so on. Now we just leave the far end of the dog run untreated and it's a dog magnet. Everywhere else, is ours again! So happy with this product. One 32 oz bottle lasted us 2 months of the summer (which is when we battle the hot pee smell) highly recommend ! ... show more

I bought this product for the price. It wasn't bad but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. It did work for a small period of time and the smell was eliminated but I needed something stronger that lasts longer. This may work for small dogs in small areas but not for someone with several dogs to cover larger areas. ... show more

I moved from a warehouse in a major urban city to a house the country. After being here with my dog for two years, I noticed on a string of 100-degree days that the yard reeked of urine. BAD. Never having dealt with this issue before, because this is the first time I've had my own yard, I freaked out and raced to the computer to see if there were any enzymatic treatments that were safe for lawns. To my surprise, I discovered there are several products just for this problem! Since I was also having an issue with tons of bugs, I had been looking into natural remedies to repel them. So when I found this odor control product that also had citronella — citronella oil being one of the most common herbal insect repellents — it was like kismet. I could kill two birds with one stone, yay! The day this stuff arrived, I immediately unwrapped it and headed out to spray it on. I noticed the difference immediately. Wow! Just as I was finishing up spraying, a friend stopped by to chat with me, and I mentioned the problem I was having with urine stink, and she sniffed and said, "Your yard just smells like hay to me." And it was true. After spraying, the yard didn't smell like chemicals, it didn't smell like some sickly fake cover-up, it didn't smell overpoweringly of citronella, it just smelled like warm damp hay. Fantastic! It continued to smell like hay with a light trace of citronella for about three days (and I was only aware of the citronella because it knew it was in there; I doubt anyone else would have been able to pinpoint the faint underscent). my yard is back to smelling the way it did when I moved in, meaning there's no odor at all now, neither hay nor pee, which is perfect. Well, mostly perfect. I know that with herbal yard treatments to control bugs, they have to be repeated fairly frequently. That's just the nature of, well ... NATURE. Herbal treatments and essential oils don't have the long-term residual effect that nasty toxic chemicals do, and for those of us who prefer to stay away from such things, we accept that more-frequent treatment is part of the price we have to pay to not poison ourselves and our environments. I'm okay with that and it isn't a surprise to me. I expected it. So at the same time I purchased this product, I also purchased an herbal yard spray just for repelling insects and I also have several DIY recipes I can make myself with essential oils, so when the citronella in the NATURVET wears off and bugs start showing up again, I'll just do a quick spritz of one of those treatments. No biggie. And when my yard starts stinking of dog pee again, I'm going to buy more NATUREVET, because it worked brilliantly for me and the effect was immediate. What a relief! In fact, it's been so nice, I've been going out in the late afternoons to sit on a new garden bench I put up right next to that area and watch the birds. It all feels so civilized!
