I have been gradually introducing this into my skincare routine for a few weeks now. I am currently using it about 3 nights/week. I was A bit nervous because I have never used a Retinoid product regularly, and we have all read the stories out there. So far it seems to work well: a bit of tingling for a little while after putting it on, but absolutely no redness or irritation. The gel formula is smooth and lightweight. No odor. I haven’t seen visible results yet, but it is early. I will update after more time has passed. *update* I am now using this six nights per week (I skip it once a week to exfoliate). No issues at all! My skin tolerates it well. I always wait about 15-20 minutes after applying it and then add a super-hydrating moisturizer afterwards. This is not really a moisturizer. This is what I think of as retinol PLUS. There are different grades of retinol (variations of the A vitamin). There is retinol, retinal (retinaldehyde), & retinoid acid. There are some gradations between Retinal and Retinoic acid like granactive retinoid, but these are vitamin A derivatives in increases strength as I wrote then above. Most anti-againg products have retinol which is the mildest and have the least side effects, which for most people, is dryness, redness and peeling, although some people can have more serious reactions. But being the mildest, it also is not as effective as the others. This product is retinaldeyhyde so it's a step up in strength from retinol and I was nervous to try it because I thought it would really dry out my skin or that I may have a poor reaction, but i was SOOO pleasantly surprised that not only did I not have bad side effects, but the effect has been amazing. My skin is more glowy and scars and wrinkles are less pronounced and my skin is more even toned. If you buy this, go slow...try it once and then wait a day or two or longer if your skin reacts. It took me about 3 weeks to build up to the every night schedule, and even now, I skip a night about once a week if my skin feels too wind burned. I have been using the product for about 6 weeks now. I'm really happy that I took the leap to try something stronger for my face. I do use a squalane moisturizer under it at night to mitigate the wind-burned feeling...and sometimes apply another moisturizer over it. I will buy this again. So far I’ve been pleased with this retinol. It’s not too strong on your skin (if you’re an experienced Vitamin A user). It’s almost gel like and very gentle on the skin. I would try it every other night just be sure it’s not too strong on skin and you’re not irritating your skin. I do have and continue to use prescription strength Tretinoin but I find I need a gentler form during the winter. Results thus far have been good: continue to see vitamin A progress but a slower rate ( which is fine with me during the winter). It’s gentle with no irritation. I would definitely follow instructions even if you’re an experienced Vitamin A Tretinoin user. Glad I bought it and the price was good. ... show more

The product is nice but the pump was broken when I received it. I ordered their sunscreen and the pump on that one broke after a month. They need better packaging for their products.

I’ve been using a low-level Retinol for a few months now and had no reaction whatsoever. I decided to up my Retinoid game and get the .05 Retinal. OMG this stuff is amazing! It’s not drying like Tretinoin is. It can be a little tingly but nothing concerning. I’m currently going through the Retinoid uglies but I’m excited to see the results after another month! Once I’m able to tolerate the .05 I plan to increase to the .1 great product to add into anyone’s skincare routine after serums but before moisturizer! Pro tip: wait 20-30 minutes after application before you apply moisturizer to maximize penetration. ... show more
