  • Great bag
Size: 2QT
I think all perlite is about the same but this is bagged in a resealable bag. Very helpful for storing. It is like a ziploc type.

  • Decent Perlite
Size: 5QT
I loved this perlite until I got down to half the bag and then it was all particles and broken down, very dusty. I only got use half the bag unfortunately, and for the price, I expected to have the entire bag be solid perlite. Great perlite and product overall though my plants love it in their medium mix. I just don’t use the broken down material ... show more

  • Great for Adding to Your Soil
Size: 2QT
I usually make my own soil so adding perlite is great for drainage and providing oxygen to the plant roots. I prefer pumice but when I can't get that perlite is a great substitute. This is a very small package you don't get much.

  • Pricey, But a Small Amount Goes a Long Way
Size: 2QT
I've been using perlite to create my own soil mixes for more than 50 years. It lightens the soil so water can drain better, keepng the plant healthier. Until recently, I didn't know that organic perlite is much more effective than its counterpart. So in that sense it is cost effective. Still, I think it's a good bit overpriced, but so is everything nowadays. My plants are happy, and I still have half a bag, so it's worth it. ... show more

This is your standard perlite. It works just as described. I use it to help with drainage in my houseplant soil.

  • Good perlite and reasonably priced if you only need a small quantity
Size: 2QT
I have been using perlite in my container soil mixes for many years and I buy it in very large 4 cubic ft bags = 120 quarts. I buy the grade #3, or coarse size for my purposes, but requirements differ dramatically depending on the type of plants, whether you are doing hydroponics, using as a soil amendment, or for seed starting. This product is listed on the label as containing perlite in sizes from 3 to 6 ml (which equals 1/8 to 15/64 inches or 0.118 to 0.236 inches). According to the Perlite Institute, Inc. this is about midway in the sizes typically used in horticulture and should be a decent size for general purposes. I compared it against the #3 product that I use. This product appears to be good quality with a minimal amount of dust. I am very pleased with the labeling on the bag for this product because it includes appropriate cautions about breathing in the dust. The price of perlite has increased dramatically over the past few years and a 4 cubic ft bag that used to cost about $20 purchased locally in a horticulture supply store is now more than double that amount. So if you only need a small amount, it is reasonable to buy this on-line and the listing price of $8 for a two quart bag (cheaper in larger quantities) is not that bad considering it may include shipping. ... show more

  • I love having a small bag of perlite indoors
Size: 2QT
One problem I have with any indoor gardening is that all my big bags of stuff are inconveniently located outside in the shed. So if I am wanting to replant my succulents, or start some spinach (to name two things I got this perlite for), it's a hassle. This is convenient, so I can easily accomplish whatever I'm trying to do. The perlite felt great and worked well mixed in with other soil ingredients. Fantastic! ... show more
