But on the back of the package it says "Natural Elephant Bath Salts, Infused with Dead Seaminerals..." Meaning it's not dead Sea Salt, it's a different salt infused with dead Sea minerals! I didn’t purchase this to cook with, but as an ingredient for a handmade product I make. I got about halfway through the bag and discovered several tiny brown recluse looking spiders. They were alive, possibly hatchlings but sort of slow to move. We don’t have spiders in the house and the bag had been sealed. So... not a huge issue for me since I’m not cooking with it and they were easily squished but still sort of disgusting. No pics sorry, I was frantically crushing them. :( ... show more

I purchased this salt to use as a body scrub and to wash off stale/bad energy. As you may know, the salt is believed to possess such qualities. I just used it and I definitely feel refreshed and renewed. Also, I noticed that it exfoliates skin without the excessive stripping. After doing extensive research I came across this product. I am glad I did because I like the way I feel after emerging myself into a hot bath. I happen to like this product better than Epsom salt which has its purpose, but this product brings a different kind of calm to the experience.

Had too many black chunks of something all throughout. One even kind of resembled some kind of snail shell. Salt was ok, but had to get all the dark stuff out of bath every time we wanted to soak in it. Gonna spend the extra couple of bucks and go back to my previous brand.

I actually bought this salt to make a foot scrub, and its quite lovely. Pour some in a small plastic container, add some olive oil enough to saturate the salt but not cover it. I also added a touch of refreshing mint essential oil.
