Our dog is a Doodle and he started itching...a lot. We took him to the vet who told us that a lot of Poodles and other mixed breed Poodle dogs are allergic to chicken. She sold us a big bag of prescription dog food, which was SOOO expensive. We love our dog, but the price was ridiculous! So, I looked online trying to find "chicken free" dog food. We have purchased this dog food for the past 18 years and love it. We would be devastated if this was ever discontinued. Our 18 year old shih-tzus are still alive! How many dogs do you know that live that long? We are so happy that they have lived as long as they have and credit their good health to their food. Our groomer has always commented on their beautiful coats. We hope for many more years thanks to their healthy food. We also have an 8 year old Golden Retriever and a 3 year old Goldendoodle that have always eaten this dog food. They are thriving and have beautiful, soft coats with no hotspots at all. Every time we meet other dogs, we notice their stinky, oily dog smell that our dogs have never had. That is another positive about this dog food. No yucky dog smell. Our dogs all love the taste, are extremely healthy, don't smell, don't have skin issues, and are living to a very old age. What more can you ask for? Please feed your dogs this dog food. This is not 24lb but rather 20lb. It’s definitely better than animal-leftover based “kibble” (all commercial brands) and I’d give this to my babies over animal flesh and secretions every time, but we’ve switched to wfpb home-made food instead because it’s better for them than processed kibbles. They did like the taste of this though. Dogs are not carnivores, they don’t require flesh in their diet. My babies have been plant based for 7+ years and thriving.     • My dog's coat looks beautiful after feeding him this for some time now!

My dog is always reluctant to try new food but he's been on this brand for a while now and his coat is shiny and gorgeous! Just be careful that you don't transition your dog immediately or they may have poo accidents! I made the mistake of giving him an entirely plant-based diet right off the bat and he had some very loose stool until I spoke to some experts and discovered the root issue. Your dog's microbiome typically needs some time to adjust to a plant-based diet. Start them off by mixing this stuff here into their normal food, slowly, over the course of 7-10 days. Get their gut acclimated to the new food. My dog doesn't love ANY dry food, but he is responding well to this stuff and always eats all of it and his coat is looking absolutely shiny and beautiful. He is very energetic and happy. This stuff is worth the price, in my opinion! I feel good about the ingredients in it after discussing it with some vets online and just observing him carefully. ... show more
