My boxer loves this food. He is experiencing boundless energy, super health, and a shiny coat that dazzels the eye! Our vet says that she has rarely seen a Boxer so healthy! Just be aware . . . This food and diet is very different to the usual meat, by product and preservative laden diet most dog foods offer. It makes a very healthy dog, BUT . . . it is high in fiber and nutrients, but high fiber passes through a carnivores short digestive system quickly. So, if you can't take your doggie friend out every 8 hours, be ready to clean your floor. Initially, our boxer would be fine with a 12 hour wait on preservative laden meat based food. He would be often constipated and his coat was ragged. Now, his health and coat are shining. But , he does need to go out every 8 hours. He is adjusting now, but when starting on this diet, his poop was very soft and sometimes liquid. As he adjusts, his poop is getting more solid, but if we wait too long to take him out, he can't hold it. He is not even able to warn us, it just comes out. So, if you have time with your dog, and want them to live a much longer healthier life, then feed them vegan food. Just be aware that they will need to "go" more often.

We turned to this brand after testing a different vegetarian brand due to our Pitbull's protein allergies. Every dog is different and this is our 3rd try on a different dog food. Ours experienced way too of loose stool on a different vegetarian brand and it was causing plugged anal glands because there wasn't enough pressure to express them. I totally understand the struggle for those where this brand may still be too high in fiber for their dogs. We had our fair share of cleaning up floors with another brand so I had to add 1/4 c. rice to every meal just so the dog could make it without accidents. I chose this one because of it's higher rice content and it seemed to do the trick. I don't have to cook anymore rice! While the amount is more than on old dog food, stools are plump and firm for my dog with this brand. My dog druels for this food. 2 bags of this is still less expensive than our prescription dog food and easily attainable. Our provider for the prescription food would have processing issues and shortages (pre-covid). It also smelled really bad. This food doesn't really have a strong odor, it just smells like dog food. Our dog has major hair loss from the food allergies and even with the prescription diet which included hydrolyzed chicken protein, hair loss was stalled but not growing back. I know they say that the body shouldn't recognize hydrolyzed protein but I'm convinced it was still causing issues. After just 2 months on vegetarian dog food, we are now seeing some hair regrowth. There had been no improvement after 2 years of prescription hypoallergenic dog food.

This food is enjoyed by my cats, neighbor cats, raccoons, possums and rarely, but sometimes, a dog. I appreciate that the food is corpse free but at the price I paid, about $3.33 a pound including shipping, I'm not far off from the rate that I can get a 40 lb bag from Evolution Diet and I trust their brand much more overall. I usually use Evolution and rely on cheaper dog food for the neighborhood critters but I think I'll just double up on my Evolution Diet purchases next month.

I bought it for my friend's dog and everything was fine for the first couple days. Pretty standard stuff, He would put in a bowl and then the dog would eat it. This continued on for probably about 3 days without incident, but then something changed on the 4th day. I noticed the faint aroma of healthy grain and vegetables. I stared at the dog's bowl, the fires of jealousy burning bright in my eyes. I wanted what Spot had. I am not talking just about the food. I wanted the naps, and the belly rubs. I got sick of watching him live my perfect life. Sure, I had some money, a decent job, a family that loved me. But was I a dog that got to enjoy the 28 lb bag of Natural Balance Vegetarian formula dog food? No, no I was not. This kept me awake. It was a desire that burned deep into my soul. So I decided to do something about it. It was just after midnight on the 7th day. I knew exactly where the dog food was kept,and I wanted it. So I crawled out on my hands and knees to enhance the experience. I tied a silk grey tie around my eyes to see only in grey. I would have what Spot had. I found the food after sniffing carefully around the cabinets. I knocked it over with ease, I was the biggest dog now. A canine champion. The food spilled onto the floor as I howled and began my feast. They should have kept it higher. But it would have been no use. I was like nothing they had ever seen. I ate until my stomach lining expanded, then I ate more. I could feel the Natural Balance strengthening my newfound canine abilities. I could feel my hearing sharpening, I could feel the desire to lick my own testicles and the ease at which I could. I lay there in my own filth, surrounded by the remnants of my feast. The transformation was complete. 10/10 would buy again
