It’s a pretty little basket and although it measures 20” it is likely a bit smaller than you might think. I live in New England and I think if I left it outdoors it would be ruined by wind and rain or snow. It’s just not made to endure punishing winter weather. It could work outdoors in a milder climate. It is very pretty and I ended up using it as a centerpiece. I was able to get it to balance on its rounded end with a few drink coasters underneath. These hanging baskets did not look like the picture. They were shaped differently and just overally skimpy looking. I had the lights on a timer function and after 2 weeks, one of the baskets was completely out and the other was so faint you could barely see it...even after new batteries were added. Timer on the 2 hanging plants I purchased were not retrievable and rendered useless. I just saw the same item (priced much lower) and the timer was fixed to the outside of the hanging plant. I purchased this item for the timed lights. Not able to use.
