    • Looks good when properly assembled

I'm glad I didn't follow through on my first impression! My husband and I put the three sections together and folded out the major branches. I immediately went online for a return label. Fortunately, being the way I am, I started fluffing out the small branches, What a great change for the better. The perceived problem was the very visible metal rods that attaches main branches to the trunk. At least 5 inches of metal are visible before the smaller branches begin. However, I discovered that there are so many small branches on each major branch that the metal is quite nicely hidden by them. The smaller branches create a density of coverage that makes a tree that is quite attractive. The fact that the "trunk" itself is covered with the artificial needles is a significant aspect. It does take some ingenuity to deal with the wires for the lights. They are rather haphazardly arranged in some areas. The work around isn't difficult since it's possible to unwind the wires to an extent and put the lights in more desirable arrangements.     • Nice Tree Once the Lights Are Working

I ordered this tree on Nov 2nd and received it on Nov 10th. The tree arrived in a brown shipping box weighing 43 lbs and measuring 48" x 15" x 13" with the normal wear-and-tear that typically occurs with UPS. This box was the "reusable storage carton" referred to in the bulleted description for this tree. There was no storage box within the shipping box as is sometimes done. If the box is to be set on carpet or stored indoors you will likely need to wash off the debris accumulated during the tree's journey with a damp cloth or sponge. I immediately opened the box and set up the tree. The tree was the standard arrangement of three sections that connect together and into the stand. There were six strands of lights that connected together to an AC power cord in a large green lump in the center of the tree. Upon plugging in the tree, I discovered that the lights did not light on nine branches in the upper middle of the tree. The tree came with an abundance of yellow and red bulbs (no blue or green). I attempted to trace the failing string of lights and I replaced what to me appeared to be the unlit bulb adjacent to the lit portion of lights. However that had no effect. I placed a call to the 800 number listed in the insert with the tree. The recorded message indicated that they would not accept calls unless the tree had first been registered on their web site. I hung up and visited their web site. I filled out their online form which included attaching a PDF of the receipt from Amazon. I was unable to fill in one field on the form which was the UPC code for the tree. Fortunately the web site accepted the form with the default value for the UPC code. I then placed another call to the 800 number and was quickly connected with an operator. One of the first things she asked me for was the UPC code from the box. I told her that their was no UPC code on the box. After a brief discussion about whether or not the box had a UPC code, she was willing to accept the item code instead. I explained my difficulty to the operator and assured her that I had replaced the neighboring bulb in the string. She told me that the way they repair trees with similar problems is to send someone out to fetch the tree, have it repaired and then returned. However, she indicated that it would not be possible to have this done by Christmas with my tree (recall that this phone call was on November 10th). She recommended that I wait until the end of January of next year and to call back then to arrange to have the tree repaired. The only other option was to return the tree to Amazon. I fretted about this over night and the following morning decided to make another attempt at repairing the tree. I decided to trace the entire string that was not working and verify that every bulb was seated properly. This process was somewhat difficult as the string was obviously the same color as the tree and furthermore the string was wound about each branch and hidden among the artificial needles. Eventually I came upon an obscured socket that had glass portruding from it which I managed not to cut myself on. Closer examination showed that somehow the bulb had been sheared off at the rim of the socket. I used a screwdriver and pair of needle nosed pliers to pry the remainder of the bulb out of the socket. I inserted a spare bulb and plugged the tree back in and all bulbs came on! Overall the tree was reasonably priced and was shipped free as I am a Prime customer. The tree arrived quickly and it is reasonably handsome. It will look much better once the limbs at the end of each branch have been spread and arranged. ... show more

    • First plastic tree, wasn't ready for the work!

I have to give "easy to assemble" 5 stars since the parts all fit together easily. Easy to "fluff" to make it look semi-real? NOOOO. Pretty sure I'm just putting this in the attic as is, since we spent 3-4 hours with 2 people bending branches... I suggest not going perfectly straight or star shaped with them, put some odd angles to make it look more realistic. Overall, I can't really complain about much... there is an easy to hide 3 outlet extension cord at the top of the tree to plug in the rest of the lights (bottom set reaches the power strip, then extension cord down through the center to plug in the rest). They took the care to use a GREEN extension cord which is nice (plus, free extension cord). A foot away it totally looks fake, 3-4 feet away it looks very nice although I am tempted to restring the lights. ... show more

It's easy enough to assemble. Most of it looks decent, though I don't think it would fool any but the most casual observer. The top section, unfortunately, does not follow the cone shape of the rest of the tree, it sticks out further than the section below it, so even with shaping it, the thing looks a bit off. It's bad enough that we plan to replace this at some point because the whole top looks weird, which is distracting. ... show more

So I didn’t floof it as much as I could have. First things first. This isn’t my first artificial tree. But it is my first online purchase of a tree. This tree has a lot of little branches on each main branch. So I was able to make a nice full tree by bending up the branches closest to the trunk and spreading the branches closest to the tip. I only spent two hours doing this. One more hour would have made it even better than it is. As you can see from my pics it has plenty of lights! Something it has that I didn’t know I needed was more clearance under the tree! Easy to pack the presents under it! Of note watch your fingers placing the sections together. I pinched a finger on the top section and it hurt badly. My fault. I have a heavy tree top that took some engineering to actually make her stand straight. This tree was as good and better than I could have hoped for after not seeing in person before I bought it. No regrets! If you take the time to do the branches artificial trees are so much easier! No watering is the biggest perk. They still drop needles but mostly when floofing the tree. None on the floor since. Honestly less than trees I’ve had in the past. Would 100% buy again! ... show more
